“The inner cities and border have always been solid ‘rat but they’re not Texas by a long shot. “

But those areas are growing along with the “Mexican Creep” taking over counties coming up from the Rio Grande. So sooner or later, Texas will be defined by them and not the people you know. Trust me Orange County, CA was as conservative a place as you would find anywhere in the country and the Orange County Register was a solid Republican newspaper. It’s gone now.

Texas is well on it’s way to being just like California

It's the second most invaded state (by illegal aliens) after California, isn't it?

Prescott area is way more conservative. I am retiring in next week and will move to my home in three.

Sorry, Collin is full up with Chinese, Vietnamese, Indians and Mexicans. We don’t have any room for refugees from California.

oh yeah, Arizona, wow, like I saw spiders the size of my hands crawling around the front door just now, trying to squeeze in under the threshold...and black clouds with lightning constantly flashing. There were hundreds of toads the size of a softball everywhere at the barn tonight, it looked like a horror movie! And they were all watching us, thousands of gummy eyeballs swiveling to and fro as we walked to the car...

About 5 years ago we were looking at moving. Hubby said Texas. I said no because it won’t be long til Texas’ demographics match California’s and then they’ll be California. If you look at some of their cities they’re on the way. That’s how it happens because the big cities rule the states.

California could easily be split into thirds:

Plano, the largest city in Collin County, can also easily be split in thirds. The west is Californians and Yankees, the middle is Asians, and the east is Mexicans.

Here in the HEB/Midcities they’re always building more houses, apartments and businesses.

The Haitian mayor of Plano wants high density future slum housing. He won re-election with money from the Dallas developers, but we managed to pick off a couple of his lackies on the city council.

I agree. Californians moved into Washington State and gave us Governor Inslee, Patty Osama Mama Murray, a high gas tax, recreational pot, and Evergreen State College. Oregon is going the same way. You don’t want to wear a Trump hat in any of these states.

I grew up and went to school in Arizona. Spent the last 30 years there until I retired to Florida 6 years ago.

Just stay away from the university towns like Tucson, Tempe (where I grew up and lived until I retired here 6 years ago) and parts of Flagstaff around NAU and Sedona, which has turned into Lefty La-La Land.

Otherwise, there are a lot of nice towns in Arizona that have very conservative makeups.

Good luck in your retirement. I know Prescott and Prescott Valley well.

Well I’m in Texas. Was born here and I wouldn’t leave for anything. There are still more Conservative area’s OUTSIDE big cities that carry the day and help keep Texas red. We’re still out here and we’re loud.....;)

Just don’t try to turn Texas into California.

That knee-deep response gets me every time. As if conservative refugees from blue states would ever think of doing that.

I just hope this sort of California Republican is truly similar to the Texas type of Republican.

L guess it must be a fad to voice such 'concern' about conservative refugees fleeing blue states. It's narrow minded and stuck up, if you ask me.

If you come here you better leave your democrat vote c##p behind. We do NOT want any of that liberal mess here.

The people quoted in the article don't sound anything like liberals to me. What are you worried about?

There are no conservatives left in California. Those worthy of living in Texas left many years ago.

The owner of Free Republic still lives there, as do a huge number of Freepers.

“My boys’ minds have been taken over by the liberal teachings of the schools here,” wrote a woman from Westlake Village who works in the courts. “I would like to try to save my younger son before it’s too late.”

They're just figuring this out?

How clueless can you be?
