Of course he's being pummeled on Twitter over this.

Lack of compromise led to the creation of the United States.

To determine the historical nobility of any particular war, the circumstances and justifications must be looked through a SJW prism of 2017.

Does anyone still think slavery would have survived if the Civil War had never been fought? Was it worth sending 620,000 men to their death to end an abominable practice a little early? It’s a valid question.

Funny how we now have communists on the west coast trying to secede from a union because the states they’re proud to have forced remain in the union 150 years ago elected Trump president.

Of course Twitter hates him- since he’s right.

Factually though, attempts to compromise were ongoing from before the Revolutionary War. Notably, during negotiations over Virginia handing over it’s NW Territories to the feds a deal was reached which would have ended slavery- only to be vetoed by South Carolina which was totally dependent on slavery.
Then the states of the NW Territories were bound to the North by the Erie Canal and the slave states were doomed- these descendants of Virginia fought on the North’s side. The side they were economically bound to.

Of course compromises which are, today, commonplace were never even thought of: such as federal money to reimburse the slave owners for their losses.
That turned into a good deal for the North since they got everything of value in the South in the end.

It’s time for the Ctrl-Left thugs to start compromising. Let’s repeal half of Obamacare now and let the other half fester u til a 2018 repeal. Let’s eliminate half of the EPA now and let the other half harass the innocent until next year. Let’s fire half of the Department of Education now and the other half next month. They need to start compromising or start training as well as we have.

those who contend that the memorials honor Southern defenders of slavery who betrayed their country by launching an armed rebellion.

I think of a dozen or more ignorant Freepers that think exaclty the same way.

The cause of the Civil War was a lack of submission to God.

The cause of the Civil War was a lack of submission to God. He confounds His enemies. Just like at Babel.

We all say awkward things sometimes. When we do, it passes quickly and is forgotten. If it’s anyone associated with the Trump administration, it’s front page news for three days.

We should study and understand the painful history the most. It’s the history we need to celebrate (success and failure) so that we never repeat it.

Liberals want to distort, revise, blame, posture, and use as a metric because they want to use it again in the future but for their purposes.

Oh well. When the shooting starts kill them, any of them as fast as you can because they will kill you slowly.

Civil war was unnecessary but was due to greed. Like most wars. Just plain old greed. I would say power but ultimately the power is used for money. Maybe power and greed is the reason.

The Civil War was the result of one of many Democrat temper tantrums because they couldn't have what they thought they were entitled to. Sound familiar? Their sense of entitlement has always led to violence. In this case, it led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

It's bad enough we have the Democrats trying to tag us with their history, without so many on our side trying to accept it on our behalf.

Frank Luntz Twatted in reply to the General: Back then, a “compromise” only counted African-Americans as three-fifths of a human.

I continue to be blown away by extreme ignorance regarding the three fifths compromise.

Frankie, dumbass, it wasn't some symbolic BS that stated Blacks were only 60% human, it was how people were counted for the census. If you were alive back then and against slavery guess what your position would have been. It would have been to NOT COUNT THE SLAVES AT ALL (and why in the hell should any people that can't ever vote be counted?). It was the slave owners who wanted them counted and FULLY so theirs states would get more House seats to fill with pro-slavery Congressman. Capiche, moron? Please return your college diploma and re-enroll in 8th grade.

Are libs and RINO idiots like Frankie so unbelievably stupid that they would have supported giving slave owners more seats because the wording of the Constitution made them feewl bad or do they just read at a Kindergarten level?

Kelly is getting pummeled here by the same race baiters and south basher vermin that have infested
this forum long as I’ve been here

It’s a cadre

The names change on occasion

They’ll never stop as long as Fresno tolerates it

We warned demonizing the south would lead to more prized targets like Jefferson and Washington and the Alamo and any icon deemed not minority sensitive enough

That day has come yet they still harp free of charge on this forum

They should have been long zotted
