President Trump put Attorney General Jeff Sessions back in his political crosshairs on Wednesday, blasting him for tapping an “Obama guy” to investigate allegations of government surveillance abuse.
The president was reacting to Sessions revealing a day earlier that the Justice Department’s inspector general will investigate the allegations, in light of memos released on Capitol Hill about FBI and DOJ efforts to obtain FISA warrants to spy on a former Trump campaign adviser.
“Why is A.G. Jeff Sessions asking the Inspector General to investigate potentially massive FISA abuse. Will take forever, has no prosecutorial power and already late with reports on Comey etc. Isn’t the I.G. an Obama guy? Why not use Justice Department lawyers? DISGRACEFUL!” Trump wrote.

No. If you have employee working for you, you discuss issues in private, not public. Trump is better than this. Either respect your employees or fire and replace them. The current Twitter comments are disgusting and demeaning of Trump. It shows or leads one to think Trump is not in charge, cannot control his own employees. And when Sessions eventually quits, sympathy will be with him, not Trump. (And note that I have called for Sessions firing from almost day one.)

You want Rosenstein running the DOJ for a year? Or fire him too? The number 3 at DOJ just quit. I have no idea who would be the temporary AG for a year or more POTUS fired both Rosenstein and Sessions. The Senate will not approve a replacement. Moving another cabinet member to DOJ will create a huge firestorm.

Yep. Another 1 1/2 year DOJ IG report with as POTUS says includes no prosecutorial powers. Which means ANOTHER criminal investigation after the IG to hold anybody accountable. What a farce. Sessions is a pathetic coward.

I disagree. Pres. Trump is very cleverly distracting the MSM by pretending to have a feud with Sessions. And Sessions knows how to play along.
In the meantime, as the MSM’s leftwing pundits go beserk over this latest tweet, there will be almost no time remaining on MSNBC, CNN and the other channels for discussion of the newly reported problems involving Hope Hicks, Jared, Manafort, Rick Gates, gun control, the border wall, etc. etc.

Yes, I do. Trump can appoint anyone he wants as acting AG and so forth. He can then propose perm, same or other person. Up to Congress to act. But Trump’s acting would be in place during the interim.

This is a political issue now. Nobody is going to jail for any of the Obama crimes. So POTUS is doing a beltway theater twitter to make the point that the “system is rigged.” If it gets him reelected it will be worth it in the short term. But the long term damage to this country can’t be overstated. We are now clearly a post Constitutional republic.
It boggles the mind to think that Sleepy Sessions was once the leading conservative of the Senate. The pick of the litter! That’s how bad the swamp is!
