Mueller is a snake. Only reason he is supposedly saying this is to entice Trump to talk. Nothing good will come of Trump talking to a snake.
I think that he wants to drag this out until the mid-terms to give the Rats a chance to convince their brain washed subjects that Trump is so evil it’s going to take time to get at it...
It is not an either/or proposition. You can have an AG with principles and integrity who also has some common sense and political smarts. Besides, Sessions betrayed his then future boss from the get-go by not telling the President about Sessions’ decision to recuse. How is that principled integrity?
Podhoretz was very close to being a nutty ‘nevertrumper’... He’s right on this issue but I’ll never trust him again.
So, after a year of investigation this is where we are at?
It’s been 9 months - and these Hillary butt kissers haven’t come up with anything big against Trump. Since all Mueller’s team are Democrats who Hate Trump if they could damage our President they would have done it.
Hillarys hoax is falling apart and of course she will never be held accountable for it even though SHE was the one colluding with the Russians!
Mueller has said Trump is not a criminal target. That doesn't mean that others involved in the campaign aren't or that members of his family aren't. There are still a lot of ways that Mueller could damage the President professionally or harm him personally without levying criminal charges against Trump himself.
Too bad lying to President Trumps attorneys is not a Federal Crime!
Exactly. Let them work to find evidence of a crime. Do not hand them anything. It’s the same reason every lawyer will tell you, do not talk to police, notably if you could possibly be considered a suspect. They will record every word and then dissect every one of them and filter through a dictionary, when something is mildly disconnected you’re guilty of lying.
Sessions did what the ethics lawyers in the DOJ said he had to do or he would be in violation of DOJ regulations. Leading an investigation in which you are a possible target.
Can't have a principled man in violation his own department's regulation, now can we?
Unless they were Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch, of course. democRAT operatives doing Obama's and the Deep State's bidding.
Then you'd have somebody who would violate the laws all day long for you. They wouldn't recuse themselves because they didn't seem to care at all about the regulations and laws that keep things legal in our system.
So it is an either/or proposition.
Besides, you or I don't get to select the AG. It's already been done and it's Sessions.
and Mueller would NEVER lie - well, other than too Flynn.
Yeah, we can trust him....
How is it ethical for someone to take a job under false pretenses? That is what Sessions did. He took the job even knowing he was going to recuse but didn’t tell his soon-to-be boss. Then once confirmed, Sessions set in motion the whole anti-Trump (and anti Trump’s voters) series of events that resulted in the Mueller witch hunt. The whole set of circumstances stinks to high heaven. Sure, folks like you can say Trump could fire him, but he can’t without putting himself into further legal jeopardy. If it is being claimed that he obstructed justice for firing Comey, what do you think will happen if he fires Sessions? Trump is trying to do the job as best he can. He doesn’t need more snakes in Congress and Mueller’s office snapping at his heels.
How about an honest one that doesn't lie by omission? He took the job, knowing he would immediately recuse himself. THAT is deception.
Like Pres. Trump said - he would NOT have hired him if he had told the truth.
Did you forget?

If he’s no under
criminal’ investigation - then what would be the problem with him shutting it down - Switch to a special council with prosicutorial rights - on Clinton & gang?
Because I've learned from experience it does no good whatsoever to stay pissed off about things that have happened in the past and you can't do anything about.
Look, we didn't get to pick the AG. Trump did. And he hasn't fired him yet. We know Trump is not shy about firing people who are not doing the job he likes. So why is Sessions still the AG?
Because I believe Trump and Sessions are working on a scheme behind the scene, out of the public purview, to bring down the Deep State rats. Just my opinion.
Besides, it doesn't help my BP any to keep being frustrated and angry all the time like many FReepers seem to be. I choose to count our blessings that Trump was elected, not Hillary. And that Trump is doing a lot of damage to Obama's legacy. And that we've already have a new conservative Supreme Court justice on the bench. And that the economy is going gangbusters for the first time in many, many years. And that he is sending the military to the southern border to close Obama's open border. And that he has brought ISIS to it's knees. Lots of things to be thankful for.
I've learned not to dwell on things I can't control. Sessions as Trump's AG pick is one of those things.
Not mine.
“There was a book published awhile back whose thesis is there are so many laws on the books, everyone is guilty of committing 3 felonies a day.”
I have tried to explain to some people that it is literally impossible to be a law abiding citizen and many of them seem unable to comprehend what I am saying. They have a hard time grasping the fact that we all routinely break laws that we not only have no awareness of but no logical reason to even inquire whether the action is legal. We assume in many cases that something is not the law’s concern but the lawmakers think differently.
