I would not hold my breath for any indictments.
McCabe was given a criminal referral almost 2 months ago.

Now if Grassley got angry AND called on Sessions to either order his minions to cooperate or else he, Jeff Sessions, should resign—that would be something.

Sessions recused himself. He does not have some secret plan.
He is not working behind the scenes. He is recused. If he was caught
working behind the scenes with some secret plan, it would be a huge
scandal, in itself.
The fact is Sessions is on the sidelines on the biggest scandal in
American history...by his own choice.

Well, Grassley is a Congresscritter, and his main job is bringing home bacon for his constituents.
He both knows the limitations of a single Congressman and how to arm-twist and shame his peers into sometimes doing the right thing. He’s definitely a mixed bag, but being mixed makes him a lot better than most of his self-serving colleagues.

We’ve found our common ground. I do agree; even a mixed bag beats most of the GOP senators, no doubt about it. [My junior senator, Perdue, is trying to burnish his image by having led the charge to do away with August recess. He’s about to hear from me again, that anything short of full bore backing Trump counts for little on my score sheet.]
The first option is a remote possibility. The second option is lala land.

The public will support him. They are sick and tired of the partisan corruption and the complete lack of accountability in government. The IG report could be a pivotal moment. A golden opportunity for Trump to take action stemming from an report written by an agency watchdog. A great rationale and a great time to do it.
