“Hell, the illegal trade is actually increasing because more people are smoking it and don’t want to pay high prices.”

Till you can provide evidence to validate this claim I’m calling BS.

This legal MMJ patient here in Florida is thankful to be able to purchase clean, legal medicine. While it is expensive it’s much cheaper than street flower prices & you don’t have worry about contaminants or poisons like fentanyl being put into it.

So you posted a link to a site that was using a portion (selective portion at that lol) of a Washington Post story & the link is marked as being a New York Times story.

I’d say try again but if that was your best effort to start I don’t hold much hope for ya lol!

When you come up with something from a non-propaganda site, do share :)

Seriously, there is no source you will accept if it differs from your view???

This is proof that Weed is bad for you.

“Seriously, there is no source you will accept if it differs from your view???”

Fallacy. We know here at FR that the Washington Post is a producer of propaganda & woefully biased & unreliable. Why reject them on politics & not everything else? Try again.

“This is proof that Weed is bad for you.”

Actually, it’s only proof of fraud & deception. In reality millions of people have learned cannabis is a much healthier & more effective medicine for chronic pain & many other ailments.

Myself, in 2015 I suffered from horrible depression & anxiety & was extremely obese & sedentary. I started using small amounts of cannabis in 2015 & by the end of the year I was off all anti-depressants & atypical anti-psychotic medications. By the end of 2016 I was off all anxiety meds & at the end of 2017 I was off the insomnia meds. I also, due to increased wellness & energy began exercising—walking primarily & to date I’ve lost 94 ins & counting.

You want to tell me cannabis is bad for me? LOLOLOLOL!

I assume all other sources are also too biased for you, especially if they disagree with your views.
Here, find one you like :
https://www.google.com/search?q=illegal+marijuana+sales+in+colorado&oq=marijuana+illegal+sales+in+colo

“Myself, in 2015...”
Sorry, this source is biased. :)

“I assume all other sources are also too biased for you, especially if they disagree with your views.”

Wow, once you settle on a fallacy you go all in. Sad.

So you post a link to a google search as evidence of what exactly? That black market cannabis still exists? Well, thanks Captain Obvious. Of course it still exists. Just as people still run illegal booze & cigarettes, there will always be a black market for cannabis.

1st you fallaciously suggest black market cannabis has grown since legalization & post a link to a click-bate website who’s using a Washington Piss story to draw traffic. This suggests to me you did a quick google search & just posted a link without reading the original story at Washington Piss.

Then you move your goalposts to tell me that original link was “proof that Weed is bad for you” when it actually said nothing of the kind (see I read it lol) but only talks about how some black market criminals operate. See what being lazy does for ya?

This is how you go to zero-credibility in 5 posts or less Appy. Congrats! :)

I feel very sorry for people who cannot or will not recognize their errors. You’d have been better off to admit to not reading your original article 1st. Oh well, it’s your credibility you ruined, not mine. :)

Sorry you’ve decided to immerse yourself in a fallacy. Hope you get better soon.

Till then, I’ll keep on being happy & productive & thankful to my Heavenly Father for giving us the cannabis plant to use medicinally.

Have a blessed day!

You sound like you have all the facts you need on it, so nothing I could ever say would make any difference anyway, but I will give you a little more to chew on. It was used for its medical properties in the far east for centuries. Look into our history, Hemp farming was actually mandated early on in our history until they banned it in 1937 the same time it’s cousin was banned... If you follow the money you will see why... it has NOTHING to do with what it does to us or it is bad for us, our regulations on the poison that is alcohol proves that. It turned out to be just the beginning of limiting our freedom for somebody else’s gain. Interesting to note the timing too, alcohol prohibition ends and then Prohibition 2.0 starts right after. Big Pharma would have never been BIG without criminalizing something that worked so well to fix MANY problems. It could also be used for Rope, Clothes, and hundreds of other things and that is why Hemp farming just got legalized again, legalization of the rest of the family is coming too finally!

Growing up, my Grandfather told me the bible had the answer to all man’s questions in it and I believe him. So, lets look, What does it say about the plants that God created?? Now what does it say Strong drink (i.e. HARD Liquor?)

You are batting 100% though because you are also TOTALLY WRONG about who is using it. I went to Oregon last year to visit my mom. She lives in Rural Oregon, you know, the part that is Christian and Conservative... Not Liberal Portland or Eugene... I am over 50 and wanted to go see what a now legal dispensary looked like. Interesting to note, you can now buy weed more places there in Oregon, than you can buy hard alcohol. I was SHOCKED to see the the majority of the people buying weed were at least my age and most were 10-20 years older than me... I talked to one old guy and he was there buying it for his 91 year old mother. Told me the same story I knew to be true from a friend here in Arizona, His mom got out of a wheelchair after years of being confined to it after she stared using marijuana.

Yup, marijuana the miracle drug. Gee just pass a joint around and everyone can throw away their wheelchairs and walkers. It's a miracle I tell ya!

Sorry, I'm not buying it. There is NO credible study that shows that smoked or ingested pot does anything except get people high...makes you feel good. It doesn't cure anything. It doesn't fix anything. In fact it makes things worse in the long run and causes mental problems...especially in the still developing teenage brain.

But hey, if you're okay with people getting high and endangering their physical and mental health then more power to ya.

What is credible to you? There are hundreds of studies of the good it can do. Also NO proof of anything you claim. That is purely government education... funny they claim no medicinal use, yet they hold the patent for medicinal use. Thats government logic for you. I never advocated teen use or even smoking it. I am for adults making up their own minds like alcohol or cigarettes. Why is the conservative position for freedom and personal responsibility at all times unless we are talking about a plant God put on this earth for us to use? No good huh, every study they do says opiod overdoses have gone down everywhere it was legalized... studies also have shown teen use goes down when its no longer taboo... simple logic to most parents. You have not disputed anything i have said, or answered anything i asked, not much of a conversation when you just keep giving your opinion so this will be my last response...

I appreciate you giving me that last word. The notion that God put marijuana on the earth for humans to use is ludicrous. When we "use" it it literally fills us with toxins. It "intoxicates" us. There is zero indication in the bible that marijuana is to be used by man to get high. In fact it is just the OPPOSITE:

Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
Gal 5:20  idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
Gal 5:21  envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Notice that these are all fleshly lusts. Things that we do to satisfy fleshly desires. That word in red, sorcery, is really:

pharmakeia
far-mak-i'-ah
From G5332; medication (“pharmacy”), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): - sorcery, witchcraft.

In the context it's being used it means using drugs like marijuana to get high. It's usage is based on the fact that "witches" and wizards would either smoke or ingest drugs like pot in order to get "visions"...or they would dose their unsuspecting victims to give them "visions".

God said "That's not right. Those who follow me DO NOT HAVE TO GET HIGH. Getting high TRAPS you in a fleshly non-spiritual existence. All the so called God fearing "Christians" who smoke dope are really being led down a false path. Repentance is in order.

The bottom line is that God did not intend ALL plants or animals to be ingested by humans. That's just a silly notion. There are plants that poison us whose effect accumulate over time, like pot, and there are plants that kill us outright...like nightshade or certain species of mushrooms. God didn't intend that we "dose" ourselves with that in order to experience a false and momentary "high".

Well I tried to honor my word, but I need to get some work done this afternoon and keep thinking about your strawman argument up on your soapbox... so I have to get this out so I can work.

Still not answered anything I have asked, I can tell you your lack of response about alcohol make me envision you sitting there with your scotch/rocks making all these judgements, but probably only because I know a guy exactly like that, That said, I actually agree with part of what you are saying, the part about looking for a high... People drink for that reason and also do about a 1000 other legal drugs but why is Marijuana the one thing that can not be managed responsibly?

What you are obviously ignorant about is the actual effects. Somebody that uses it regularly does not even get high. I quit smoking it because of that reason and the fact I did not have money to buy it when work dried up. Thing is, about a month later, I could not even bend over and put my socks on or tie my shoes. It could have been because all of a sudden I was working 80 hours a week doing physical labor to make a living instead of sitting behind a desk drawing and I had not used some of the muscles in 30 years, but somebody had me try (50 state legal) CBD oil and within a week I could again. I know personal stories don’t mean anything to you, but maybe somebody else reading this will understand. After it became legal here I can make a batch of edibles for about 1/10 the price of a bottle of cbd oil and it works the same for me.

One last question I can never seem to get an answer for... Why do YOU think our bodies have cannabinoid receptors if they were not intended to receive cannabinoids?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_receptor

Here is a little history lesson for you or anybody else interested.

This is a common leftist propaganda talking point built to trick religious people into thinking that pot is "God given". Number one you should study receptors in general. You'll find that our body has hundreds of thousands. Number 2 you'l see that our body produces natural substances (hence the receptors) that pot mimics. These receptors are for our NATURAL body functions. It's exactly WHY pot is dangerous. It overrides and KILLS these natural receptors and makes them dependent on pot for the same processes. Our body stops making these substances when we smoke too much weed. That's why potheads don't think straight and why they're not healthy.

There are also opiate receptors....same thing with the body. By the propaganda logic one would think that opiates are God given for people to abuse as well.

THINK FOR YOURSELF and quit reading leftist propaganda designed to enslave you.

Oh you do. You just got used to it..you assimilated it as part of you and your personality. The bottom line isyour body is now dependent on it. The body is tricky thing when it comes to pain. If your body craves a high (which it does when you use pot or opiods for instance) it will literally manufacture pain in order to trick you into taking more of the substance. This is exactly what the story in the posted article is talking about when it says that pain INCREASES with pot use.

I know personal stories don’t mean anything to you, but maybe somebody else reading this will understand. After it became legal here I can make a batch of edibles for about 1/10 the price of a bottle of cbd oil and it works the same for me.

That's funny that you are able to use CBD oil, which you says works, and won't get you high, yet you prefer to use something that gets you high. Is that about right? And you cite cost as the reason?

See there you go making assumptions again... any clue whatsoever what CHRONIC pain really is?? I said no high, not no affect, you know tolerance... like with alcohol or opiods you need more to make you feel the same effect?? Well Marijuana is not like that at all, you only get so high, you cant keep smoking and get higher. Gallagher did a joke about it back in the day and it was funny because it was true. Don’t smoke weed when your high, you don’t get higher you just have less weed. In my case, because I am not doing it for the high, the amount I eat has not changed in over 3 years now since I went to these edibles. Yes I am a cheap bastard, so if it is $100 for a bottle of CBD and I can get what I need to make edibles for 2-3 weeks for $20 then yeah that’s the way I go.

Thing is, if it was not illegal for my entire life, I would have grown it myself and never spent a dime on it... If the feds would get the hell out of the way, I would go into that industry to work because I need a new career, carpel tunnel issues are coming on hard after all these years using a mouse way too many hours a day. I cant come up with something else I actually enjoy doing for work like I do drawing besides the fun I had growing for the first year we had grow rights here before they set up dispensaries... I miss growing much more than any high from smoking it...

If you go back to high school health class you might remember we learned marijuana was NOT physically addictive like nicotine, alcohol or opiods and much other big pharma crap... Those will and DO cause physical withdrawl symptoms when you stop... That is why people steal to fund their opiod or meth/cocaine habits and NOT for weed.

All the edible does for me is allows me to go to sleep at night, instead of wrything in pain all night and keeping both of us awake. Curious how you think someone would enjoy a high while you sleep?? I eat an edible and go to bed most nights but not every night. All good in your book if a doctor prescribed an oxycodone to do the same thing though right?? I have had chronic back issues since I was a kid, my mom would ask me why are you sleeping on the floor instead of in bed, well before ever starting sports, Then pop warner + high school football plus wrestling heavyweight and guys that were over 100# more than me, to top it off a car accident at 18 I got tossed out of the car and I got a ruptured disk. It is fused now, naturally, not from surgery and I can predict the rain pretty good in the dry months, monsoon season is pure pain. If I am not going anywhere or don’t have anything to do during the day, instead of sitting here in pain, sometimes I will eat an extra one, an edible is not remotely like close to the high that was when I used to smoke it, you get tired, maybe take a nap, does that sound like high? Kids that want a weed high wont eat it as an edible.

I did not start smoking m/j until early 20’s by then I was married and my wife (of 32 years now) and I both figured she would be pushing me around in a wheelchair before I hit 40. I could sneeze my back out and be in bed for 2 days. So please, tell me again, how it has increased the pain level I have lived with my whole life. It was going without numerous times that made me realize my recreational smoking had been self medicating to relieve the pain and realized how much it actually worked to make me not notice the continual pain. I live with it every day, but with an edible I can sleep at night...

Our oldest son got the same defect, we talked to his doctor when he was pretty young and was told it is just growing pains... he became a mechanic and did something that required laser surgery ($10K) at 22 years old and STILL has the same chronic pain I have lived with and he has never touched the evil weed, why would he, its not cool because we did and it was not taboo, he wants that legal poison, we preached against, Crown Royal... So far so good, he is managing it, He too needs to figure things out for himself. I just know too many people who thought they controlled it, until they realized they didn’t.

My old fishing and drinking buddy from when I first got here to Arizona for tech school and started legally drinking at 18, used to drink half the beer I would put away on a weekend trip back then and he is up to a gallon of cheap whiskey a week now... He is a functional alcoholic, averages about 3 years at a job for the last 30 now. I could make the argument the evil weed kept me from being the exact same or worse of a drunk, it is the reason I quit drinking, I did not like the way I felt in the morning after alcohol, I could smoke a little socially and wake up and function in the morning. Mixed with alcohol though LOOK OUT... it is REALLY bad news!!

For comparison, I have 34 years at the same career I came here to go to school for, Drafting, I have averaged a buck an hour/year raises over that career and never been fired from a job. I taught myself Autocad about 25+ years ago (whatever year Acad R10 was) and recently self taught myself Revit, a 3D BIM program that MANY people told me don’t waste your time, I would not be able to transition to, without taking some classes.

I am not trying to make it out as a wonder drug, cure all for everybody, It works for my back pain, but wont touch carpel tunnel issues. What is is NOT, is what it has been made out to be for years with our government blowing smoke up our ass and it should be legal for any adult to use or grow and should not be regulated any different than tomatoes or peppers are... I mean poppies are legal to grow for God sake, it is only illegal to make them into heroin!
