Everyone, including atheists, has a "religious" worldview. Everyone has a personal opinion on the existence of God, whether or not an afterlife exists, how the universe came into existence, the nature of man, and a set of ethics and morality. All of these reflect a viewpoint on a "religious" topic, which together form a "religious" worldview, which functions as a "religion." People who claim to be neutral are either stupid or liars.

For example, the public school system in America has been teaching deism or secular humanism ever since the Supreme Court kicked God out of the classrooms. We do NOT have a neutral school system or a neutral media. They promote a particular "religious" viewpoint. People, especially Christians, need to wake up to this fact, and they must not let Leftists or Liberals get away with claiming to be neutral, especially when teaching their children.

Every atheist I have known has held government as their god. And they want their god to be all powerful so 100% of the atheists I have known want totalitarian leftist governments.

Put another way:

Everyone has a value system that transcends reason/logic - that doesn’t require a ‘because.’

If we didn’t, we’d never be able to get out of bed, we’d be frozen in infinite regress.

Some things we must assume as absolute, unconditioned, values. Those comprise our belief system that is transcendent to pure reason: our religion.

From a Darwinian perspective, the human mammalian brain is the only one that has the capacity for complex mysticism. It is expressed in many different ways. Without a capacity for mysticism, it is doubtful humans would have the capacity for creativity. Hence the theological thesis that humans are created in the image of God.

She detects the power of dogma within another person’s heart, but this Jedi mind trick is only possible because she too is guided by powerful dogmas. Feinstein has a view of the world that guides her to believe that the absolute sanctity of a woman’s body is of greater importance than the sanctity of human life. This is a moral position — not scientific or sociological — rooted in a religious worldview.

Righteo!

“I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one less god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.” —Stephen F Roberts

Etymological root: ligare - same as ligament.

To reconnect with a higher meaning. Thus humanism and communism function as religion to secularists/atheists.
