And the practical result of that was what exactly?

You guys might consider taking a more zen approach. It's really quite simple: Trump is either going to do something, or he's not. Trump may have his reasons, or he may not. He may be playing 4D, or he may actually be in check himself.

At this point in time, it's out of our hands. We did our job, and now it's a matter of watching and waiting. If anything were to happen, then that's a different issue to be addressed at the appropriate time.

The reason I'm pretty sanguine is because history teaches that no matter how many millions can be/have been killed by tyrants, the spirit of liberty and the desire to be free eventually results in victory for the people. Name me an oppressive regime, and I can tell you when it was eventually defeated.

What psychopaths don't understand is that while normal people don't have an overwhelming desire for power & control, there is a certain point where the will to life is subsumed for more primal reasons. Once that state of mind is reached by the general populace - see French revolution for instance - no amount of paid mercenaries can stand up to that force.

The USA has had a great ride. This iteration may fail, but some new(er) version will eventually emerge, and perhaps use our experiences to learn how to best prevent how total corruption can take over the state apparatus.

Really? The practical result will be apparent with the passage of time. Evidence mounts and the weight there of will have a cumulative effect. You just don’t get your instant gratification fix.

Do you know what “practical” means?

prac·ti·cal

adjective
1.
of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and ideas.

The practical result was nothing.

Nothing.

No, I am not reaching, you are.

I’m wondering if you actually know what “reaching” means.

The practical result of Peter Strzok’s congressional hearing was nothing, and it will always be nothing.

The practical result of Peter Strzok’s congressional hearing was not your BS theory of cumulative effects of mounting evidence.

I just asked you what the practical result of Strzok’s congressional testimony was.

I’m sorry that English is apparently not your first language, but that doesn’t mean that I’ve ever been to D.U., nor does it mean that I’m liberal.

It just means that you are wrong and unable to accept it.

Sorry I was having a bad go just then. I make it a point to not lash out at posters here and I didn’t mange to hold my temper, my apology.

It’s your choice if you choose not to see the long game. We are on the same page as far as congressional hearings go at face value. I look at a different horizon obviously. It took us over a century to get here regarding Progressivism, that will not be undone overnight. Some people need to be lead gently to change a cognitive dissonance will not allow them to admit the path they have followed in their lives may have been wrong headed.

My position is the visual evidence of watching Strzoks antics in front of a congressional committee will demonstrate to those that can be reached that we are not dealing with forthright individuals here. And as more of this evidence is brought forward more will start to see and the dissonance will abate. If I’m wrong here we might as well give up now as nothing will change the path we’re on.

Maybe I’m naive, but I’m still hoping we can turn this thing around. If we don’t change some attitudes on the left it’s all for naught. Just jailing the bad actors may make us feel better, but unless attitudes on the left change we’ll be right back to square one in short order.

No need to apologize, I know that I can be hard to deal with, annoying and arrogant at times. This is the truth.

Thing is I am just stuck on the question of what really is going on here? What is the purpose of these congressional hearinga?

As far as I can see, these hearing are pure theater. Their purpose is to make people think something is being done about this corruption, but the fact is nothing is being done. No one is actually being held accountable.

I don’t think any of the individuals involved here, including congress, are forthright individuals. They are all players in this game of Us Versus Them.

It is my opinion that to assess that there will be some eventual result on the horizon is dangerous, because that excuses the fact that there is no actual result, no penalty, no accountability now. So that is why I am a bit of a stickler on these stupid hearings.

If no one watched them, if there was no audience, they would have no point whatsoever, and I am not even sure with an audience there is any point, because in that audience at least half, if not more, are actually rooting for the sociopath to triumph over the kabuki actors, and he did do exactly that, because he is not in prison.

But let me state clearly, I’m sorry for being an ass to you, I’m just frustrated by this stupid show.

Thanks for filling me in. I know nothing about her except that she is part of the Clinton machine. Maybe more will come out about her as this onion continues to slowly peel.

I can’t disagree with any of that. And to be honest my frustration level is maxed too. I’m just hoping there is a plan. Thanks for a reasoned response.
