In all of the hoopla and bs surrounding the "final farewell" for McCain, one person seems to be significantly absent in it all.
That person in the original Mrs. John S. McCain: Carol McCain. For those who do not know, she was married to McCain when he was shot down over Vietnam. Prior to his deployment, Carol McCain was, by all accounts, quite a beauty. She was a 5' 7" tall, a successful swimsuit model, and the mother of three children (one by McCain, and two by an earlier marriage that McCain adopted). While McCain was a POW, she had an automobile accident that wrecked havoc on her body: she ended up at 5'3" tall due to the massive damage to her pelvis and her legs. She also gained some weight as a result.
McCain came back, saw this physically broken woman that was waiting for him, and promptly started running around (according to numerous accounts of his life, it was "well known" that John had numerous girlfriends during this time period). While still on active duty as an 0-6 Captain in the US Navy, he met Cindy Hensley (17 years his junior, and from a very wealthy family in Arizona), started dating her (while still married to Carol), and even filed for a marriage license with Cindy while still married to Carol!!! The rest is history.
None of this is new information...it has been out there in public records forever.
If I (as a former officer in the US Army) had done something like that, I would have been court-martialed for adultery and conduct unbecoming an officer! But....my daddy was a medically retired E-7, not a full admiral like his daddy and granddaddy.
My point is this...we all know why the MSM and the left are lionizing this adulterer and liar: it gives them yet another public forum to vent their anti-Trump rage.
McCain destroyed his original family to stroke his ego. That is much like the stories from some of the other POW's calling him Songbird: allegedly, he "sung" to his captors, betraying his country and thereby destroying the lives of other Americans to save his own life.
Good riddance to bad rubbish, in my opinion.
(PS: I think this is my first post in 10 or 12 years (although I read FR daily), so if I have done soemthing wrong, please let the admins feel free to delete it. It just really bugs me to see this circus happen without even a slight mention of the woman who stood by him while he was a POW.)

He was transferred off the Forrestal after the fire, only person who was. C.O. and crew knew what he did? Would he have been shot down if the Forrestal fire had not happened? Imponderables.
He should have been returned to the States and assigned to Ferry duty. Given his history—like Rota Spain—he would have tried some other hotshot crap, like flying under a railroad trestle and ending up a blood splat among 10,000 pieces of A-4 spread across a quarter mile of landscape.
Ed Meese is a real gentleman. He and his wife helped Carol McCain when she needed it. He is quite an impressive person. He is 87 years old now, but still gets around DC events a bit.
Ok. Before anyone responds I will go and check out the Forrestal fire again.

John's mother whom the press was gaga over this week was no slouch in the crass, callous indifference department, either. The first wife Carol McCain's Wikipedia page says that when cheatin' McNasty dumped her and the kids, his mother sued her for the return of "personal property"—presumably items given to her or to them as a couple when they married. Wonder if she re-gifted them to Cindy?

"Having worked on A-4 and F-4 Avionics while in the Marine Corps, it's not likely that a surge of electricity jumped across a switch to set off the rocket. Even if it had, the safety pin and unconnected pigtails would have prevented it reaching the rockets. This is why weapons protocol required that the pin should not be removed and the pigtail should not be plugged in until the aircraft is on the catapult with weapons facing away from other aircraft. As for the bombs on McCains, (or anyone elses), aircraft, it wouldn't have made any difference if they were on the deck or still on the aircraft. They would have cooked off anyway. However, if McCain had dropped them himself, (assuming his pylon safety pins were also removed prematurely), they would have likely detonated when they hit the deck and broke open. He wouldn't have had time to escape. The old, leaking, 1000lb Comp B bombs cooking off were not the cause of the misfired Zuni rocket either. The fact that the entire crew was not trained to fight fires, (like they are now), also led to much further damage to the ship and crew. Lack of training and disregarding safety": protocols led to the deaths of most of these men.
OK. He did not cause the Forrestal fire but there is still an awful lot of other reasons not to like him. The business of the Safety pin and pigtails on the zuni missle is briefly covered at about 1:23.
Her claims of his mind being changed can just as well be a self serving excuse for her own disloyalty.
Thanks for your comment. I was touched by his and his wife’s kindness to Carol McCain after the divorce. I’m glad she had such good friends to help her at the time.

I can imagine the two sleazebags being partners in crime. McCain philandering and Biden looking for prepubescents to fondle on Waikiki Beach.
I’m sure Nancy was firm in her stance on McCain. The Gipper surely knew she was right to be so.

I am totally embarrassed that I posted the “wet start” story about McCain. It is B.S.^to the max.
I was led to believe the story from a good friend who I believed had good information. I can hardly wait to tell him his story is the type of rumor mongering the Democrats did to derail McCain’s run for president. My friend considers himself a conservative but he shows how easy it is to be swayed by the Fake News’ enterprise of personal destruction.
