And the rest were exposed and likely infected and are free to incubate and spread it.

Brilliant.........

I’m guessing a lot of us did but didn’t say it.

It’s the first thing I thought of.

The incubation period for the flu can range from one to four days, according to the CDC (at least according to the CDC on the internet).

“Symptoms of influenza can start quite suddenly one to two days after infection” -wikipedia

Is it possible that those who showed signs of the infection in such a short period of time had some sort of compromised immune system? I’m no doctor, and I don’t play one on TV, but I was always told that by the time you shows sings of having the cold or flu virus, you were probably infected 1 or 2 days previous

The flu. Riiiight, and I have a bridge for sale. Dozens of people on the same flight don’t suddenly start bleeding from everywhere and two die from the flu.

I still have an embroidered dinner menu from a SAS flight into JFK from in the 70s. And that was in coach. People behaved themselves back then. Flying used to be an experience. Today, it is nothing but a rumble in the jungle.

That is my understanding also. If the normally transmitted “flu” is the cause there should be a massive outbreak at the origin location of these flights.

The incubation period for the flu can range from one to four days, according to the CDC (at least according to the CDC on the internet).

Yesterday, the CDC said they'd be "tracking" all the passengers for 21 days. The incubation for Ebola is 21 days vs. the flu at 3 days. The doctor on board the plane said it looked like Ebola because people were bleeding from every orifice and two died. Other passengers said people were sick before boarding. Smells like a group intentionally bought tickets to spread whatever. Now, if there are two more planes...

See my years old tagline.

Those planes were from THREE DIFFERENT locations.

What made you think otherwise?

Infectious Disease ping - (INFLUENZA, NYC c/o Dubai, via Air Emirates Flight)

"The New York City mayor's office says 10 people hospitalized after a large commercial jet arrived from Dubai
have tested positive for influenza. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention quarantined the double-decker Emirates aircraft
holding 520 passengers Wednesday so it could evaluate about 100 of them.
Some had complained about coughs, headaches, sore throats and fevers."

Medical notification from a municipal politician.
The CDC has retained 10 people in the hospital.
Whatever happened to the other 510 passengers ?
Where is the quarantine to prevent disease spread; obviously the CDC has the authority to issue one.
The 510 others were allowed to proceed to their destinations,
thus possibly infecting others with whom they came into contact.
This is how plagues start !
Let this be a warning about trans-Atlantic passengers who are allowed to embark on a journey while obviously ill,
and then transported in a confined air cabin, thus probably contaminating others.
I believe that the airline is culpable in this medical issue, and the CDC is complicit for not establishing a quarantine.

Having done years of influenza testing, modified flu and normal everyday flu will test the same - either positive or negative.

Nothing on the passengers who arrived sick from Munich or Paris yet that I could find.

It was reported in the news this AM that all of them had passengers who were returning from the affected areas.

I didn’t keep the link to the “bleeding” but did find this so do a search - https://censoredweb.com/2018/09/05/ebola-on-a-plane-at-jfk/

Check this thread on someone hanging out in the airport waiting area for two days with measles.

I wonder what strain of flu. I used to study up on flu and learned more than I ever thought I could learn. I should check some flu sites. It is not flu season, so this is strange.

Yep, the flu incubation period from exposure is anywhere from 1 to 4 days.

All passengers should have been quarantined for 5 days.

You must have heard it wrong.

There was a plane from Dubai that landed at JFK on Sunday.

There were two AA planes that landed in Philly on Monday. One of those was from Paris. The other was from Munich.

Hope this helps.
