The Caravan is easy to solve. Just interview the caravan promoters. Then show the children who are being forced to walk the length of Mexico for a democrat stunt. I think you will find that the same people starting the march will not be there at the end. Or they will be driven through Mexico. They are not walking it.

The media would certainly go to defcon 1 if he secured the border with the military.

Which is why I think the President will stay his hand on deploying the military to the border until after the midterms.

Meanwhile, he did respond by telling the offending countries that he'll yank their foreign aid if they don't stop the invasion themselves.

I know that's not the sharpest arrow in his quiver, but he's got to avoid giving the left something that will ignite their voter base right now.

I think we'll see a much more potent and effective response after the midterms.

Great idea!
Very politically astute too.

There’s also Art 4: “shall protect each of them against invasion”

Risky business. But that’s the point of sdjourning Congress and getting a resolution of support from them.

Yes, risky.
Really need for Congress to suspend Habeas for these people so they can quickly be disposed of- but that’s not likely.

Thing is I BELIEVE that WE outnumber these radicals, there are Dems that are NOT radicals and WANT the border secure!

We may outnumber them, but only by a slim margin. It all comes down to which side can motivate more of their voters to show up on election day.

Democrat voters are notoriously lazy when it comes to midterm elections. It takes something really powerful to get them to turn out for non-presidential elections. Sending the military to the southern border would be just the spark to motivate them.

We don't want to light that fire until the elections are over.

Yep. Not a chance.

Congress critters drop their gonads at the city limits when they go to Washington.

Declare a state of emergency and close the border before they can approach it. The national guard can secure the borders. Any state whose governor refuses to cooperate can enjoy the sight of the U.S. Marines securing the border.

The optics will kill the Dem chances.

8 U.S.C. §1182(f) of the U.S. Code confers on the president the power to turn away immigrants at the border:

“Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

The quote above comes from the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, which Truman vetoed. Congress overturned Truman's veto.

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (Ted Kennedy's gift to America) added language that forbids discrimination based on race, religion, nationality, etc.

The 1965 language is what present day federal judges use to stop Trump's order that blocked immigrants from various Muslim countries.

Post the Marines in flak vests, helmets, A4s locked and loaded.

That's fine but I think an AC-130 is all that's needed ; )

Re: “Much as I'd love to see a military response, Trump needs to stay his hand just an eensy bit longer.”

Trump has stayed his hand since January 2017.

We had a “Catch and Release” border policy for the first 15 months of the Trump Administration.

In May 2018, when “The First Caravan” tore the mask off Catch and Release, Trump enforced the law for about a month.

Today, we are right back to Catch and Release.

Ouch. You sure know how to pop a guy's bubble.

Maybe it's time we start writing the President daily, laying out the long agreed upon nuts and bolts of what it will take to end illegal immigration.

Personally, I think the President is too wedded to the idea of the wall as the best solution. It's not. We've got to Turn Off The Magnet, if we want them to stop coming.

Universal E-Verify would be a helpful place to start.

However, if Trump has even said the words “E-Verify” since he was elected, I have not read about it.

Trump is better than Hillary Clinton on immigration.

But saving our Republic requires urgent radical immigration surgery, and Trump is never going to do that.

He's courageous, but he's only one man going toe to toe with an entrenched treasonous establishment, that is hellbent on ending the American Experiment.

It's up to us to give him the unquestioning, overwhelming support he needs to execute the sort of decisive moves that will truly rescue the republic.

Showing up to the polls on election day is only the start. If we don't all become activists, it's over. We're going to have to fight ten times harder than the enemy to preserve our beloved nation, if we hope to win.

President Trump has done more than anyone else to bring attention to E-Verify. The problem is that Democrats and a few Republicans in Congress have refused to deal with him on immigration.

Trump Budget Lays the Groundwork for National E-Verify

As for the group incursions at that southern border, federal judges have repeatedly decided in favor of defeating the intentions behind the President’s orders by using previous laws passed by Congress and decisions in previous court cases.

Re: “President Trump has done more than anyone else to bring attention to E-Verify. The problem is that Democrats and a few Republicans in Congress have refused to deal with him on immigration.”

I disagree.

Trump doesn't need any Congressional help on E-Verify.

E-Verify was established by Executive Order, in 2007, by George W. Bush. It applies to all federal contractors and vendors.

It is simply an Executive policy to enforce existing law.

About 20 states have independently legislated some form of E-Verify, and the Supreme Court has supported the right of states to do that.

Trump could at least try to impose universal E-Verify on all states by Executive Order, but he has not and will not do that.

Trump could also vigorously campaign for E-Verify in states that don't have it, but he has not and will not do that, either.

Re: Trump Budget

So, Trump couldn't shake loose $15 million to expand the E-Verify system, which is already in place, and has been working fine for 10 years?

Trump's 2018 budget was $4.1 trillion. Trump borrowed $800 billion in FY 2018. But he still can't find $15 million?

Re: Border Policy

The only two legal issues at the border are the separation of children and parents, and people claiming asylum.

All those cases could be prevented by stopping people before they cross the border.

Concerning the legal issues, Trump continues to send DOJ lawyers - who hate Trump and hate his immigration policies - into federal court to argue his cases.

Unless Trump hires his own lawyers, he will never get good legal advice, and he will never win an immigration case.

"E-Verify was established by Executive Order, in 2007, by George W. Bush. It applies to all federal contractors and vendors."

"Federal contractors and vendors?" That's not enough. Private sector employers need to use it, and he can't force them all to use it without the needed law (legislation).

"Trump could also vigorously campaign for E-Verify in states that don't have it, but he has not and will not do that, either."

Yes, he has. President Trump at the Tampa, Florida rally in July of this year:
"All we've got to do is enact E-Verify and stop sanctuary cities."

Phoenix, before the election:
"We will ensure that E-Verify is used to the fullest extent possible under existing law, and we will work with Congress to strengthen and expand its use across the country."

But Democrats in Congress have repeatedly refused to negotiate, while leftist publications (Washington Post, The Mercury News in San Jose and others), made the same claims that you're making here.

Expanding the use of E-Verify nationwide is the duty of Congress or the legislatures of the individual states.

"Trump's 2018 budget was $4.1 trillion. Trump borrowed $800 billion in FY 2018. But he still can't find $15 million?"

He didn't borrow that all by himself. Congress makes the funding decisions and also shorted President Trump on funding for the wall, by the way. If he didn't let Congress have its pork, he would have received even less funding for defense and immigration enforcement.

Here's a bonus for you. Hillary's faction lost, and every day, it appears to be more blind to its descent into dementia.

:-D

That's hysterical. You should tell Hillary to spend all of her money to fund the government. President trump is giving more than anyone else has in more ways than the following.
