We don't want to light that fire until the elections are over.

Elections are never OVER! So we can never secure our borders.

“Would there be any conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, anybody know?”

As long as the military restricts its actions to the border, with the purpose of defending the nation from invasion (which this clearly is), I don’t think there’d be a problem.

I agree, at this point any action that does not deliver the house and senate is a fools errand.

Spot on! It’s already illegal to enter the US without permission.

Illegal border crossing needs to be made a felony.

The oath they took states they will defend the US against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Let ‘em rip.

“...These radicals are a VERY SMALL portion of our country they just have the media and BIG MOUTHS!!...”

Exactly!! Fake news wants us to think that the radical fringe left who want open borders are legion. I am with you; the actual number of open border fanatics is far far less than the enemedia wants us to believe.

Our strategy should not be based upon this falsehood. In other words, our side needs to close the border and not be intimidated by the media into doing little or nothing.

Yeah, that’s my understanding also. It addresses using military against US populace - it’s “inward-facing”, not outward in defense of the country.

My guess would be, ‘emphasis’. The same reason you used 4 question marks.

Re: Close the border

Chris Farrell of Judicial Watch, and comments right here on Free Republic, were demanding that Trump close the border two days ago.

What took him so long to make up his mind?

Re: Pelosi Blocks Wall Funding

Big problem. I agree.

Last estimate I heard - $20 billion.

That's why I want vigorous enforcement of universal E-Verify - which can be scaled up for $15 million.

No Jobs?

No Illegal Immigrants.

Re: That’s hysterical.

No.

It’s pragmatic.

The DOJ and FBI are politically corrupt.

Why does Trump waste his time sending Hard Left DOJ lawyers to federal court to defend his policies?

If Trump can’t afford to hire his own attorneys, or if Trump doesn’t care about losing his federal court cases, he should tell us.

Re: “Private sector employers need to use E-Verify, and Trump can't force them all to use it without the needed law (legislation).”

Sorry, that's incorrect.

IRCA - also known as the 1986 Reagan Amnesty - empowers the President to enforce immigration laws nationally.

As I said earlier, E-Verify is a Supreme Court tested executive policy that enforces IRCA.

Trump has the statutory and executive authority to impose E-Verify nationally any time he wants to.

Obviously, the Democrats would instantly go to Court if he did.

In which case, Trump could instantly turn national and state E-Verify into a vote harvesting political campaign.

Problem is - Trump doesn't really want national E-Verify, either.

“Trump is never going to do that.”

Trump does not currently have close to the political power to be able to accomplish that. He came to Washington without even a political party...maybe in three weeks he will have that, if the Republicans win. He’s still in danger, at least for the moment, of having Washington throw him out.

Which may be why this is being instigated now. While he is still politically weak, with so much of his own society wanting his head on a plattter, he has no choice but to tread carefully.
