Early voting nearly turned violent in Charlotte on Wednesday, when a Republican volunteer was confronted by a man who showed a gun at a Mecklenburg County polling place, police said.
Derek Partee, who is black, said three white people angrily approached him at the Steele Creek polling place, which is southwest of Charlotte near Carowinds.
Partee posted photos of the three on Facebook, including a photo in which one heavily tattooed man can be seen openly carrying a pistol in a hip holster. Partee said he called the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and filed a report.
In a news release late Wednesday, CMPD said it had one person in custody who officers intended to charge in the case. The two others who were with the suspect will not be charged because police determined they violated no laws.

Crazy 12 days left in this election...
” a Republican volunteer was confronted by a man who showed a gun at a Mecklenburg County polling place, police said. “
Illegal to open carry at the polls?
I assume the man wasn’t arrested for that but for interfering.
Remembering that pic of the Black Panther outside the polls...
article is a tough read.
NC is an open carry state and the guy had a holstered BB gun in the parking lot.
They called Partee names.
I don’t see where any crime has been committed.
Down here in Steele Creek working the polls just threatened by two white males (and) a white female who called me a N***a, Black piece of s*** and he exposed his weapon,
He said something about being a Republican, I said I am a Republican, he said Motherf***** you aint s***,
All three should be in jail, used as examples to reign in the other idiots out there that think it is open season on Trump and Republican supporters.
Remember that its the snewz unobserver Were talking about here. They couldnt get it correct if We wrote the article.
Well, those three have earned dossiers.
I remember the good old days when the only people you saw at the polls were neighbors you only see at the polls.
Sure they dont look wholesome, but did they threaten him, or just hurl insults?
>>Illegal to open carry at the polls?
it may depend on the state but in Texas, yes it is illegal to bring a gun. Period. However the poll judges can carry (as can law enforcement agents).
Also cannot have a cellphone/electronic device in use within 100 feet (or inside) polling center or wear campaign/party/etc shirts/hats/pins.
You watch. The phony bombs were created specifically to look like they were made by an idiot. The whole plot of addresses, misspellings, crudity, etc. but as they take these things apart they will discover they were assembled essentially in a Class 4 containment. No fiber, no dust, no hair, no DNA... then the investigators will realize whoever assembled them was one of them. Clearly someone who knew how to assemble an evidence free package was smarter than this idiotic plot. But no perps will ever be found because, frankly, as soon as they realize they are looking for one of their own they will quit looking.
Open carrying a BB pistol? Why not carry a sign that says “I’m stupid”
There are several terms at play, assault, battery, intimidation, etc. Where's the line for each. Anyway, some is also a matter of intent. If they are doing it to scare or chase away the person, that is problem. If they are simply stating opinion, no so much so. How was it received?
Punks look like antifa.....they are extra dumb they forgot their masks
If you’re going to CCW why bother with a be gun???
:: the guy had a holstered BB gun ::
This will be portrayed as racist redneck Trump supporters attempting to intimidate a black guy. They will say it was based solely on race, since the jerks did not know he was a Republican when they saw him.
A white Democrat racist threatening a Black Republican...
