Voter turnout for Tuesdays midterm elections may be affected as a potent storm unleashes rain, strong winds and potentially violent thunderstorms from the midwestern to southern United States.
According to research, weather influences some voters' response when making a decision to head to the polls.
"Weather was found to be, on average, nearly 20 percent of the change in voter turnout based on our analysis," according to AccuWeather Data Scientist and Meteorologist Tim Loftus.
"Democrats are more weather sensitive, when compared to Republicans, and among the most weather-sensitive were African-Americans, those 65 and older and 18- to 24-year-olds," he said.
Below is a breakdown of the weather expected on Election Day for the states with key races. Several of these states are in the path of the impending strong autumn storm:
Can they say that ???
It's been said conservatives would crawl over glass to vote.
See Post #2 - area for discussion ...
Weather means NOTHING to Republicans on election day. VOTE!
“among the most weather-sensitive were African-Americans”
RAAA-cist.
I don’t give a damn if flaming frogs are falling from the sky.
The horrible day that Obeyme “won” his first term, I left my newly-suddenly-dead Ibizan Hound, Izzy, on the sofa and voted in tears.
And next we'll see CNN claiming that global warming is why the Democrats lost.
Looks like GOD is not democrat, very inconsiderate
Wow. I cant even imagine. Good for you. Izzy would have wanted you to, I bet
Wow. Maybe God really is on our side.
Wow! I guess the “Russian collusion” excuse couldn’t get enough traction. Now the Dims are going with the “act of Gaia” excuse.
LOL - AP had a story today setting up the narrative if the Dems lost on faulty voting machines. Now add this to the equation. Just more things to add to the narrative of why they lost.
It’s Trump’s fault, because he pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord, it caused severe global warming and storms that prevented people from voting.
I wrote the above while barley keeping a straight face, the left will believe it to their core. Either we lost because of Global Warming or we lost because nobody likes our ideas.
GLOBAL WARMING IT IS
**What a freaking timeline
This is actually a good sign. Many Republican voters used to be described as “broken glass Republicans” because they’d be willing to crawl on broken glass to go to the polls and vote out the Democrats. A little bad weather doesn’t usually stop them but the Dems and Libertarians would rather call it a day, light up a bud and just forget about the whole thing. I see many close Senate races in that green swath that could turn a percentage point or two based on turnout - enough to change the outcome.
Remember, though, two key Democrat constituency groups, the oxygen-deprived and the fraudsters will NOT be affected by bad weather.
I live in Michigan where it is expected to rain most of the day. I also have no transportation at the moment, but will walk the 1-1/2 miles to the polls rain or shine. It doesn’t matter to me. Most Dems probably wouldn’t even think about doing the same thing. Bring on the rain! Go John James!
Its just water. Heck, even an old logger like myself gets a needed shower in a good storm.
If the President had only signed the Paris Accords we wouldn’t have this extreme weather!! It’s an obvious case of voter suppression. Impeach 45!!
