Why are the English generally in favor of open borders? Because those who hold real estate in London and local environs have experienced considerable appreciation. So too those in California - especially SF-SV and coastal SoCal.
It's been pointed out repeatedly that open borders are favored by both wings of the uni-party. Libprogs get the votes, and the GOPe makes the money. The only losers in the game are those caught in the middle, without political representation or capital wealth.
That's why the smart money - including most of the F500 and Hollywood - have embraced avant guard social marketing, with all the attendant features thereof. (See: Gillette) The elite are shorting traditional American culture & values because they realize it's a dead end. That is, a lot of bark, but no bite.
Trump had his chance to make his move, but he failed at the most critical juncture. Now, it's quite obvious to even certain dullards that the deep state has no fear of him. Hillary Clinton he certainly is not.
Well they do, so what is our problem? It doesn't matter how hard the President tries to build the wall/fence, if he doesn't he is toast. The number one chant at all the rallies was Build that Wall.
I won't blame the President if the wall doesn't happen, but people won't care that it is Ryan and Mitch that are responsible, they will hold the President and all his little helpers in the Senate, responsible. Sadly it is just the way it works. In the end we have the immigration policy that our government toadies want.

Mainly because that is the only issue. If it is not brought under control in the next few months, we are finished as a nation (traditional America).

The wall has grown bigger than politics. The people see the need for it. Folks aren’t going to be happy if it doesn’t happen, and I think the public will exact revenge. They are smart enough to know who is blocking the wall.
Trump is not going to lose this. As far as I am concerned, Ann is stabbing him in the back framing it as if it will be his fault if it doesn’t happen. How you win the argument can often be how you frame it up front. Now Ann has chosen the Democrat’s way to frame it. A debate giant she isn’t.
She just doesn’t grasp the negativity of her actions.

Coast Guard is considered part of the US Armed Forces. Presidents have the authority to attach it to the Navy at will. And Congress can do it if they declare war.
