CNN reports: "James Watson, who discovered the double-helix structure of DNA alongside Francis Crick in the 1950s based on the work of British chemist Rosalind Franklin, said in a PBS film that genes cause a difference in intelligence between white and black people in IQ tests.
"The 90-year-old's comments were labeled 'reprehensible' by the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) on New York's Long Island, where Watson had been the director from 1968 to 1993.
The laboratory said it 'unequivocally rejects the unsubstantiated and reckless personal opinions Dr. James D. Watson expressed,' noting the statements were 'reprehensible [and] unsupported by science[.]'"
Watson was shortly relieved of his administrative duties, but not his title.
Among other "reckless" statements attributed to the Nobel winner, Watson implied what has been statistically proved over and over: that stupidity is linked to genes. In CNN's report, the word "unsubstantiated" stands out most glaringly, especially in light of the existence of a warehouseful of substantiation to support Watson – for example, documented statistical IQ differences among the races among humanity.
We cannot divine intent from an off-the-cuff comment made by a genius whose body of work has been of incalculable benefit to mankind – especially when science backs his comments. Rather, we determine using verified data from corroborated sources the range of intelligence – and therefore intellectual output and performance – among various races. The reader can then decide for himself if the cited genius was correct in his assessment. None of these comments is meant to defend the reprehensible, the inexcusable, or the injustice that groupthink, ostracism, socialism, racism, and anti-Semitism have wrought on mankind.

Exactly how did such people wind up allied with Biblical Fundamentalists???
The average black athlete outdoes the average white athlete, overall. Look at the NBA and NFL, and running events for confirmation. And he typically scores a few points lower on IQ tests. Doesn’t mean he’s not smart, just that people vary in their abilities and race is a factor in some of them. So what?

You can say a lot about Watson and Crick. Eccentric, egotistical, controversial... but that doesn't take anything away from their most important discovery.
I notice from your map that in the Middle East, there is a very small country where the average IQ is light blue while it is surrounded by countries whose average IQ is in the Yellow range.
And from the map, It looks like the YELLOW RACE ( there’s that word again ), has the highest average IQ of all. Heck, even Singapore ( composed mostly of Chinese ) is dark purple.
An interesting question is though, why Western civilization leads the world, by far, in accomplishments, when Europeans are only 2nd in intelligence?
China, Japan & Korea should, by the logic of IQ, be leading the world....

This just shows that IQ is NOT the only determining factor in success. There are other factors. Intelligence does not necessarily equate to wisdom ( i.e. making the right decisions, choosing the right values, etc. ).
Plus, there is another measurement that probably is more important if not more — EQ ( Emotional Quotient ).

Agreed. I suspect Christianity, and the resultant freedom-within-order it has released, birthed the creativity & leadership found in the West.
You are mistaken.
Throughout the centuries many of the advancements in Western civilization are strongly tied to the Judaeo-Christian religious beliefs of its scientists, philosophers, politicians and artists. It shaped their vision of the world.
There are a couple of possibilities:
1) IQ is meaningless.
2) IQ is important, but not the only factor in a civilization.
That said, China is likely to be leading the world quite soon.
Black athletes have certain characteristics. Is it solely because of inherent genetics, or a result of selective breeding?
This is a loaded issue, anyone can see why.
The thing is...the people I see, successful and not, intelligence isn't a factor. I suspect that's everyone's experience.

The Minnesota Trans-Racial Adoption Study followed children to age 17 and found race differences were even greater than at age 7: White children, 106; Mixed-Race children, 99; and Black children, 89.
Racial Admixture Studies. Black children with lighter skin, for example, average higher IQ scores. In South Africa, the IQ of the mixed-race “Colored” population averages 85, intermediate to the African 70 and White 100.
IQ Scores of Blacks and Whites Regress toward the Averages of Their Race. Parents pass on only some exceptional genes to offspring so parents with very high IQs tend to have more average children. Black and White children with parents of IQ 115 move to different averages—Blacks toward 85 and Whites to 100.
Race Differences in Other “Life-History” Traits. East Asians and Blacks consistently fall at two ends of a continuum with Whites intermediate on 60 measures of maturation, personality, reproduction, and social organization. For example, Black children sit, crawl, walk, and put on their clothes earlier than Whites or East Asians.
Race Differences and the Out-of-Africa theory of Human Origins. East Asian-White-Black differences fit the theory that modern humans arose in Africa about 100,000 years ago and expanded northward. During prolonged winters there was evolutionary selection for higher IQ created by problems of raising children, gathering and storing food, gaining shelter, and making clothes.
Do Culture-Only Theories Explain the Data? Culture-only theories do not explain the highly consistent pattern of race differences in IQ, especially the East Asian data. No interventions such as ending segregation, introducing school busing, or “Head Start” programs have reduced the gaps as culture-only theory would predict.
Seems to explain a few points variance among the races. If I am mistaken, so are all those “experts”.
On one hand, we have a large influx of people with lesser problem-solving skills coming here to escape the cesspools of primitivity and violence they came from and on the other hand, we have people with higher problem-solving abilities not getting married and/or aborting their children/going gay until we are nearly at below replacement levels.
Anyone see a problem with that?
I had the displeasure of listening to Watson give a talk in the 70’s. One of the most unpleasant and disillusioning experiences I can recall. His talk had nothing to do with race or religion, he just basically called out by name and personally insulted every leading figure in the field of Biology. The ostensible topic was recombinant DNA, a hot topic in that era, but I can’t recall what he had to say about it since I’ve endeavored to repress the memory of that talk.
