AOC: The Perfect Graduate of Today's Biased Colleges
PJ Media ^ | FEBRUARY 9, 2019 | ROGER L. SIMON

Posted on 02/10/2019 8:12:08 AM PST by E. Pluribus Unum

In the immediate sense, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be the best thing to happen to the Republican Party since Abraham Lincoln. Her Green New Deal is as much dead in the water as it is brain dead and constitutes a fabulous talking point for the GOP to run on in 2020.

But there is a point of concern — and in the long run a more important one.

AOC represents the natural outgrowth of our extraordinarily biased higher educational system. She is its valedictorian, its Social Justice Summa Cum Laude. Give her the SJWPhD honoris causa and, while you're at it, give the United States of America to China. They won't have to fire a shot.

Think I exaggerate? Consider the level of writing and thinking in her Green Deal in whatever ever-changing iteration, with or without the banning of cow flatulence and air travel, and notwithstanding the guaranteed income for those unwilling to work. (Isn't that already the case with internet trolls — but I digress?) This document, if one can call it that, resembles nothing more than the kind of swill presented to — and highly approved by — professors in today's grievance-obsessed colleges, where Shakespeare and Milton are dismissed or rejected and actual thought (i.e., intellectual reasoning) is ridiculed as manifestations of "white privilege."

Actually, AOC is a nascent (or not-so-nascent) totalitarian. Nevertheless, she has brought along with her almost all of the declared Democratic Party candidates (Gillibrand, Harris, Warren, Booker, Sanders, etc.), a couple of whom, one would hope, might be smart enough to know her ideas are fantastical and so expensive as to bankrupt not just the USA but most of the world along with it. It would cause tremendous suffering, most of all to the poor and working classes who can't afford, or even dare...

And by the way, Mr. Author, the best thing to happen to the Republican party since Abe Lincoln is Donald Trump.
/////////////////////////////////
So well said.

Problem: there is one and only one Trump.

Not like the Kasich type that could be filled in with Jeb Bush or 20 other RINO losers (and has been for many decades).
Just as there was only one Judy Garland,Frank Sinatra, Peter Sellers, Norman Mailer,William F. Buckley and now Bob Dylan and the Beatles. Not a type, an original.

Note: not an implied endorsement of any beliefs by above and does not represent my opinions of such, and has not been tested or approved by the FDA. I read the last disclaimer on a supplement bottle.

MAGA

Go Trump.

And it tells you not only about BU, but the state of education in American universities.
///////////////////////////////////////
True.
I worked at two major universities between 1969 and 2017. I have first hand knowledge of their total socialist indoctrination,bias,inferior education involving American history and our Republic,and their intimidation and heavy handed tactics against free speech or conservatism proponents.

We should reform them along with the propaganda outlets pretending to be the news media.

The “Green Leap Forward” is exactly what this idiocy should be called. Just like all these leading Dems ought to be called “Democratic socialists”. Every f’in time. Every time, without fail. The Republicans can not even unite in simple messaging, and it’s pathetic. They cannot wait to surrender another battle; e.g., language.

I didn’t run into political hostility in college until a poli-sci course at Georgia State in 1971. Before that I had taught a photojournalism class at SMU in the mid-sixties. The college wasn’t particularly radicalized, but when they went they WENT. I guess that was tipping point time.

It’s more important to be morally right than factually correct, Or, feelings are more important than facts.

And if the facts aren’t on your side, trash the source.
If 9/11 couldn’t stitch the country together for more than w week, are disagreements are terminal.

I have no doubt that since Airhead Of-Congress effectively parrots leftist nostrums, her transcripts will be glowing. I believe that since college costs have inflated as government money supply has increased, part of the strategy of self-validation is that colleges rarely grade lower than a “B” for most general purposes. Grade inflation leads prospective students to believe their high grades in gender studies will translate into high pay. Antifa-Cortez is the real life Dunning-Kruger on steroids.

They’ve proudly claimed her as an alumna - surely if the graduate part were false they would have said so...not sure if they would have publicly contradicted the cum laude part or not.

So why are they handing degrees out to a simp like Alexandria Occational-Kotex? Oh that’s right, they handed a doctorate to MLK that he didn’tcearn too. Perhaps it’s high time they were vetted as well.

Not that I disagree but you have to take into consideration the context of the time.

Reagan had just broken the back of the establishment but he still needed to curry some favor given how deep the entrenchment was in Congress.

Sandra Day O’Connor and believing Ted Kennedy on the 1986 immigration bill were far worse missteps.

It may be “dead in the water” but so was gay marriage a few years ago.

You are really reaching here——BU has about 30,000 students————Yale gave a degree to GW Bush,not exactly a genius either.
