Remember this when you hear Democrats speak of wanting a Swedish kind of socialism:
Excerpt from video:
When under the heavy tax and spend version of socialism (back in the 1980's), the Swedish tax authorities did not bring in enough money to fund Sweden's welfare state. There were waiting lines to get health care, people couldn't get the pension they depended on for the future at that point the Swedish population just said enough. We can't do this.Sweden then reduced government's role they cut public spending and privatized the national rail network, abolished certain government monopolies, eliminated inheritance taxes, sold state-owned businesses like the maker of Absolut Vodka, lowered taxes, and reformed the pension system so that it wasn't unsustainable.
The results from the spending cuts and privatization were that this impoverished peasant nation developed into one of the world's richest countries .
One of the best things to love and hate about FR... you have to back up your posts, LOL... Let me see if I can find the source that I got that from...
Says 585 in US, and 31 in Sweden
31 : 10m = 3.1 per million
585: 330m = 1.77
The "twice as many" ratio is approximately correct, but my raw numbers of 14 and 7 per million were off (assuming the wikipedia data is correct). Thank you for challenging them for me.
Germany 114 : 83m = 1.37
Hong Kong 67 : 7m = 9.57!!
Canada 39 : 37m = 1.05
Japan 33 : 136m = 0.24 (surprising)
Taiwan 31 : 23m = 1.35
Singapore 21 : 5.6m = 3.75
Indonesia 20 : 246m = 0.08 (ouch... but better than zero)
Why is abortion being so heavily sold in Ireland?
I believe all countries in the EU gave up their independence, and Ireland was the last nut to crack for the New World Order that Hitler envisioned 80 years ago (a godless Europe led by Germany). Ireland didn’t even legalize divorce until 1997, and recently legalized not just abortion but “gay marriage” as well. They want to be Americans, and now they are - with all that implies.
For what its worth, Northern Ireland doesn’t allow abortion or “gay marriage” - and the same forces are at work to change that.
