He’s buddies with Mueller. Who is advising POTUS? He needs a loyal AG. And I don’t mean loyal to the Democrats.

I think a deal was struck to ‘end’ the mueller coup providing Trump appointed someone the swamp could get along with—Bill Barr

Barr is going to cover up this massive conspiracy of high treason and the swamp is not going to end anything. It will be full speed ahead to get rid of Trump.

You hit it on the head. The problem is Trump is trusting someone who is ill advising him. He’s done it before and pulled short at the last minute once he realized the mistake. So while I trust Trump I think he may be acting on bad advice from the deep state establishment and making a mistake here.

Perhaps the nomination can fail and Trump can just keep extending acting AG Matthew Whittaker sort of indefinitely.

Works for me.

Something funny about the Conways. How could Kellyanne go home at night to her unabashedly Trump hating husband?

His being friends with Mueller has no bearing on this.

“Can’t believe Trump appointed another Swamp creature.”

He needs to Stay Out Da Bushes. And Bush People too.

“Would a swamp creature make disparaging comments about the Mueller investigation and Hillary’s emails?”

Because Kabuki plays to the uninformed.

Same way Mary Matalin goes home each night to James Carville. They're millionaires. They don't care who sits in the White House.

I wonder about that too. Trump needs to trust public opinion on this one. Except for the hardline party sheep who would blindly follow anything and anyone off a cliff as long as it has an “R” behind it, the overwhelming public opinion on this one is “no”.

Lol, I was thinking of that comparison too. But they are quite humorous together.

“Bill Barr was a leading proponent of warrantless surveillance, and his overall record on the Fourth Amendment is troubling to me.”

I get his sentiment, but we already have warrantless surveillance and the fourth amendment (at least in terms of federal intelligence agencies) has been shredded. I don’t think we are reversing that trend, and I don’t think anyone will get appointed to this position who would seriously attempt to, or have the power to reverse it.

More important is whether Barr will be willing to exercise the power of the office to actually tackle the pressing job of fighting back against the coup.

Swamp creatures tell us what we want to hear all the time, if they think that’s what it takes to get an appointment or win an election.

I have to side with Senator Paul on this one.

So do I. Barr is one of the foundering families of the intelligence community formed from the FBI into the CIA.

“What can Barr do with gun rights other than enforce existing laws on the books?”

Hmm, remember the recent attempts to pass new de facto gun control by simply implementing new “interpretations” of federal regulations, rather than going through Congress?

Nope, there is a time limit on that type of appointment, I think it is six months. He could keep appointing new acting AGs, as long as they had been confirmed for some other Executive branch post by the Senate, but I don’t think he can reappoint the same guy.

Similar circumstances with Matalin/Carvell marriage.
By Matalin’s accounts, James Carvell is an excellent husband and father. Of course, there is one big difference -— it was their jobs to attack the other’s side. Not so with George Conway; he is an attorney in private practice. But he’s known as a staunch Republican, with many cases reflecting that. I suspect his behavior towards Trump is hurt feelings over being passed over twice, for positions in Trump’s administration. Probably doesn’t help that Kelly Ann is on duty 24/7, though I’ll bet she’s always been a workaholic.

I was always told you can tell a lot about a person from their friends.
