WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tonight, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released the following statement after voting against cloture on the nomination of William Barr to become the next U.S. Attorney General:
“I am unable to support Bill Barr’s nomination to be the next Attorney General. While I support President Trump and have supported most of his nominees, I have too many concerns about the record and views of this nominee. Bill Barr was a leading proponent of warrantless surveillance, and his overall record on the Fourth Amendment is troubling to me. I remain concerned that Bill Barr does not agree with our bipartisan efforts to reform our criminal justice system. Finally, Bill Barr has a troubling record on the Second Amendment. For these reasons, I voted today against his nomination for Attorney General.”

I have to side with Senator Paul on this one.

The fact that he’s getting a lot of Rats support is a red flag.

I have found Paul very troubling on several occasions when he’s voted or said something horrible (imho, of course)
but a couple of his reasons (2A, 4A) here... sound proper...
if there really are good reasons to believe the nominee has these unconstitutional attitudes, Paul and the rest of the Senate should vote Nay.. and let PDJT nominate someone good on our Constitutional rights

Yes, if it gets him what he wants. Jeff Sessions talked a good game for a while and we see how he panned out. I firmly believe he is Establishment through and through. If not, G H W Bush would have had no part of him.
I disagree. He's working to stop the nomination, this the statement. I appreciate that Dr. Paul has some standards that he applied even when it's a GOP nominee.
Too bad Trump's previous pick for AG wasn't defeated, we would have been spared the entire absurd Mueller investigation
