Ummm no. The EC is important but even with direction election of the president we’d still be a republic.

Nope and nope. The fact of the matter is most of the time the popular vote winner and the EC winner are the same. Yeah, we’ve had a couple of exceptions recently, but those are outliers. Meanwhile most rural OK families probably already feel like the country is ruled by mobs in NYC and LA, and they vote anyway.

The Republic’s garments are already thoroughly soaked, and it is shivering badly.
