First, as a consequence of the influence of the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political party elites, mainly Democratic and Republican, consider that most states have not been complying with the Constitution’s 12th Amendment procedure for counting electoral votes imo.
Excerpted from the 12th Amendment: "The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice- President, and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate [emphasis added]; …"

In other words, the states surrendered their power to make “winner take all” laws for electoral votes when they ratified the 12th Amendment imo. So in stark contrast to hypocritical Democratic rhetoric that “all votes count,” patriots need to support PDJT in leading the states to get rid of their unconstitutional “winner take all” laws for electoral votes.

Next, to understand the politically correct, anti-constitutional republic push to eliminate Electoral College, patriots need to consider major constitutional problems with federal domestic policy.

Consider that the Founding States had intended for citizens to work with their local and state representatives, not the feds, for the social spending programs, retirement, medical, et al., that the feds are now unconstitutionally taxing and spending for, social spending programs for a given state ultimately depending on what the legal majority voters of that state want.

In fact, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had clarified that the Founding States had left the care of the people with the states, not the feds.

”... the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Federal Constitution, is in the States, and not in the Federal Government [emphases added].” —Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe, 1866. (See about middle of 3rd column.)

Note this insight into 10th Amendment-protected state powers by Justice Brandeis.

H O W E V E R …

Consider that most federal domestic spending is now based on stolen state revenues, such revenues stolen by means of unconstitutional federal taxes that the post-17th Amendment ratification Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

In fact, you can bet that if a given federal social spending program is not reasonably related to the US Postal Service (1.8.7) then the program is unconstitutional and be right probably most of the time.

Getting back to the “obsolete” Electoral College, the Electoral College is what is standing in the way of complete usurpation of the powers of the sovereign states by the corrupt federal government.

"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.

And once a complete takeover by the feds happens then the Bill of Rights will be gone and citizens will be subjects.

Remember in November 2020!

MAGA!

Good to know. I doubt it would change state electoral college results.

Keep making your point about the importance of the Electoral College, it’s a winner.

What needs to be remembered is in all the big cities is where the Democrat fraud machine has a complete and Utter hold on reality

so you have to consider out of every 1 million votes probably on the order of 500,000 or fraudulent

Out here in California are there blatantly coming up with new complete fraud strategies like ballot harvesting where liberal activist kids just get ballots and fill them out to straight D and hand them
In

Since there is no real Republican opposition out here they completely get away with it nobody gets in trouble nobody goes to jail therefore there’s no consequence to this Felonius action

What needs to be done is there needs to be only in person voting and voter ID - that solves the problem

The problems with liberals is that facts do not matter to them.
You tell them that man made climate change is a lie and they call you science deniers,
then turn right around and tell you there are more than two sexes.

That helps for sure. But with a mobile society that we have today
it would disenfranchise some people.

It’s called “The United States,” not “The United Citizens.”

Nor is it called the United State...We are not one State as they would have us believe...

Oh, Clinton won 12.8% of the counties....that settles it. Let’s go to number of counties instead of electoral college or popular vote as far as I’m concerned.

They want to turn The United States of America into The Hunger Games where Capitol City (D.C. in real life) Rules all the Districts (States).

The smaller less Populous Districts (States) end up at the mercy of the bigger Districts (States).

In other words The United States becomes The States United.

Today’s America is eating itself alive.

Without The Electoral College, The United States Is No Longer A Republic.
That has been the democrats goal for years they will never stop until they get it.
Total Control = Total Power

Totally agree, we’ll never hear the left say republic, it’s always democracy.
Freedom of religion is always “freedom of worship” with the left too. These are big differences.

In the 2016 election, we see the reason for the Electoral College better than ever before.

After the count, Trump had won the popular vote in 49 states. No, he didn't win them all, but the majority of the accumulated votes were his.

One state, California turned all that on it's head. One state should not be able to do that, no matter what size it is.

If Clinton had won, the collective voters in 49 states would have effectively been disenfranchised. That should never occur.

Once again for the hard of learning. If Hillary Clinton and Trump's numbers had been reversed, not a single person would be calling for his nation's electoral laws to be overturned.

Everything would have been perfect, with the Leftists.

Here are some numbers...

Nominee Donald Trump	Hillary Clinton

Party Republican	Democratic
Home state	New York	New York
Running mate	Mike Pence	Tim Kaine
Electoral vote	304[a] 227[a]
States carried	30 + ME-02	20 + DC
Popular vote	62,984,828	65,853,514

Percentage	46.10% 48.20% 94.3%

votes in ca 4,483,810 8,753,788

                31.60% 61.70%

votes in 49 other states (Trump standing)

	        58,501,018	57,099,726

		115,600,744

                50.61% 49.39% pcts w/o CA	1.21%

total votes in the US (Trump standing)

                62,984,828	65,853,514

                128,838,342

	        48.89% 51.11% pct total US	-2.23%

This is why we have an Electoral College.

What voice would small states have, if "mob rule" ruled the day?

We are not a democracy. We are a Republic. (if we can keep it)

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Electoral College exists to have a diverse and well distributed means of electing a President.

Our founders had no desire to have anything near a democracy as they understood that a democracy was the tyranny of 51% and no different then the tyranny of a King’s faction of ministers or a despot.

They selected a collection of diverse methods of selecting those in Government and divided where each could exercise his power when in office. This variety and diffusion prevented the demagogue of the moment, the true controller of mob democracy, from being able to seize power.

What has increased as change allowed was the franchise for legal voters. First to include the unpropertied, then the untaxed, and then women and finally youth as young as 18.

The concept that King Numbers rules, that a tyranny of 51% of voters or legislators could seize your rights is the Leftist rule of the General Will, centralized and all powerful.

We are not explaining this to our children.

If states totaling 270 more electoral votes change their state constitutions to give all electoral votes to the popular vote winner nationwide, the remaining states should succeed from the United States and create a new country.

I disagree. The states are electing the president, not the people. If we get rid of the electoral college the states would still elect the president but each state would have only one vote instead of the weighted system of the electoral college. We don’t have a president of the people. Getting rid of the electoral college would not change that. In fact it is only the electoral college that makes it even possible fot the democrats to win the presidency. Without the EC it takes only 26 states to win the presidency so the republicans would win every time. DJT is President of the United States, not president of the united people.

Just one look at Hillary's 2016 voting map proves the wisdom of America's Founding generation and the Constitutional protections they instituted to protect individual freedom and representative government!

They understood the history of nations, the history of tyranny, and the essential principles of liberty.

A map, available online, of Hillary's voters, will show that those votes come from slivers of the population centers on the East and West coastlines, and few from across the breadth of America.

Here is the 3D version of the county map that shows the margin of victory in each county. This is where the National Popular Vote compact hopes to harvest its win. The top 5 dark blue bars will determine the winner.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Dubya Bush drove the final stake into the Republic’s heart by pursuing Gonzales v Raich, the USSC ruling that tore down any remaining barriers to unlimited federal control of the nation. As Justice Thomas said in dissent, the feds now have power over everything down to church suppers.

What we have now is a nation-state.
