I was in Italy for a month in ‘97. Italians were great except if you asked questions in English, then not so much. My Italian friends gave me a very funny book about how to speak Italian with your hands.
It would be difficult. They’re from Marin County, which is rich and white...but I doubt that there’s a Trump supporter in the entire county.
I guess Mommy and Daddy paid for them to do a summer in Italy researching the the local drugs.

Sadly, I don’t think Italy has the death penalty.
The use of capital punishment in Italy has been banned since 1889, with the exception of the period 1926–1947, encompassing the rule of Fascism in Italy and the early restoration of democracy.
Before the unification of Italy in 1860, capital punishment was performed in almost all pre-unitarian states, except for Tuscany, where it was historically abolished in 1786.
It is currently out of use as a result of the adoption of the current constitution, and defunct as of 1 January 1948.

I’m going to guess this trip to Europe was a high school graduation present from their parents. Looks like things didn’t work out too well. At least they will have some time to learn to speak Italian.
The media makes the Italians look bad and put this in limelight probably because these two are gay privileged kids of that area.
Kids saw all those videos of the police being savaged without consequences in New York City, and thought the Italians had the same attitudes - anymore you have to leave this country to expect justice.....

Other than being in school when he coached and sharing an occasional high-five or hello when we crossed paths, not really. I did see many of his speeches though and heard much of his humor from those.
Just curious if anyone knows if the Italian police operate like the British ones do, sans firearms???
