Most of the time, most people do not notice if a person is openly carrying a holstered pistol.

I once thought open carry was retarded but am changing my mind. Now I want to have libtards seeing guns everywhere they go. Normalize it.

Perspective is important. The “no open carry” rule is just that: A rule. It’s a rule that a private company has on their private property. It is not a law.
This means that you can legally walk into the place open carrying. All they can do is ask you to leave. You don’t run afoul of the law unless they ask you to leave and you don’t.

I’m kinda torn on normalizing it. I’m reminded of those street scenes in Blackhawk Down, where it was “normalized”.

Most of their employees don’t follow very many rules anyway. They couldn’t give a sh*t.

I hear you when it comes to Blackhawk Down but I also remember Rwanda and when it gets to Machetes vs ARs I want to be on the AR team.

When I finished my time in the military in 97, I saved up the cash to drive home to Colorado from San Diego through Texas to visit my mom.
When I stopped at a gas station in Arizona to fill up, I saw a whole bunch of people walking around with guns holstered on their hips.
Smiling, I thought, I love my country.

Apparently the reason Walmart is going anti gun is because Micheal "armed guards for me but no guns for thee" Bloomberg is throwing around millions of his dollars.

What does it mean to “concealed carry”? In several states, the legal definition is that 75% of the firearm is unobservable. This definition has been used to obtain convictions for illegal concealed carry for something so simple as has having your shirt accidently cover the firearm. So by law and precedent, it is a valid definition.
So how can that be “pushed” in favor of an effort to normalize carrying of a firearm? Given the above, I would assume that a flap holster would meet the legal definition of a concealed firearm. Would walking around wearing a flap holster (which is obvious) still work to normalize the public perception. How would Walmart or other businesses react?
It would be an interesting experiment.

Sounds like it worked out in this instance but recall the article from (about) last week where the guy got hemmed up and trespassed from ALL Wally-World stores because of his open carry.
I’ve never done open carry - the laws of Washington state are so convoluted and contradictory and the attitudes of cops universally unfriendly that I’ve preferred concealed carry.
To me this recent thing with Wally-World is virtue signalling to the sheeple. The problem with virtue signalling is once you start it is almost impossible to stop. Sooner or later someone is going to see your firearm and object, and then there’s going to be a scene. When you start down that road it isn’t you that is in charge of the outcome and that concerns me.
Take care!

I certainly can’t argue with that.
I actually take this stuff pretty seriously. It’s one reason that, 8 years ago, I moved from Seattle to my “hobby farm” in south central KY. 32 acres with two knobs, two streams, and a natural well.
But if it gets bad enough where we have to worry about guns vs machetes in the streets in this country, it will be “road warrior” time, but with more trees. I really don’t expect that.

I prefer to carry concealed so if some yahoo enters a store Im in with Intent to rob it and sees me before I see him. He might decide to take out a possible threat first.
