A high-profile British socialite and royal expert has sparked outrage as she appeared to claim underage sex with prostitutes is not the same as paedophilia.
Lady Colin Campbell, who authored a best-selling biography about Princess Diana, said while she was not defending Jeffrey Epstein, there was a “difference” between a minor and a child, reports The Sun.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, the 70-year-old said: “You all seem to have forgotten that Jeffrey Epstein, the offence with which he was charged, and for which he was imprisoned, was soliciting prostitution from minors.
“That is not the same thing as paedophilia.”
But a stunned Piers Morgan, who hosts the breakfast show, hit back, asking: “What do you call it?”
She then answered: “Prostitution.”
In the quick-fire debate, Morgan then asked: “If you solicit a 14-year-old for prostitution, you’re a paedophile.” Lady Colin Campbell and Piers Morgan disagreed about the subject during the live show.
... On GMB, Lady Colin also argued “civilized” people would always dump a friend face-to-face, adding, “He’s made many mistakes. The fact of the matter is you cannot criticise someone because they aren’t as bright as you would like them to be.”

Some voters (or jury members) might feel that bribery and corruption, and even sedition might be “justified” if someone was “one of the Good Guys”. But pedophilia is really hard to defend.

In this interview, Millett criticized those who wished to abolish age of consent laws, saying the issue was not focused on children’s rights but “being approached as the right of men to have sex with kids below the age of consent” and added that “no mention is made of relationships between women and girls”.
Thus Lady Colin Campbell averts criticism of herself.

As conservatives, words mean things. She is correct. Paedophilia is love of sex with children, not sexually adult females, or late adolescent females.
Statutory rape is not paedophilia.
Just because someone is legally a child, does not mean desire for sex with them is paedophilia, which is a mental condition.
Women routinely married at ages 13 and above for most of human existence.
The legal age for marriage remains as low as 14 in some states.
You can put many 14 year old young women in a line-up with women to age 40, and many will not be able to reliably pick out the different ages.
Epstein may actually have been a paedophile; but the British socialite in correct in her statement above.
Epstein pleaded guilty to paying - or offering to pay - several “minor” females for sex.
The “age of consent” in Florida is 16.
The “age of majority” in Florida is 18.
All the females involved were older than 16, but less than 18.
It would have been completely LEGAL for Epstein to have CONSENSUAL sex with the young females.
The crime took place when he paid - or offered to pay - the young females for sex.

He definitely has the unflagging support of his family.
You may find it incredibly unfair that his family is supporting him but has not thrown a similar amount of support behind a female member of the family whose behavior has been questionable but not criminal.

This is about loyalty and commitment… protecting the family… and playing by the company rules.

He took his family’s counsel, used the family resources, toed the company line. He also specifically referenced his sorrow at having let the firm down.
He knows the rules. He sat down with family counsel and prepared his strategy and did what he was told. They will do everything in their power to defend him, regardless of his guilt or innocence.

She whined in public, refused the family counsel, hired her own outside legal and publicity resources, thumbed her nose at family customs, and then seemed to throw shade at them for not caring about how she was doing.
She should not be surprised that she is not being supported. She was explicitly told how things work and provided with all the resources and advice anyone could ever need to be successful. She thinks she is more clever than them and can play her own game with her own rules. There is no winning that game.

No matter what you do, the family will rally around you if you follow their long-established rules. If you do not follow their rules, there will be no rally.
You can shout, “That’s not fair!” all you want, but that is the way things are.

I read that she was born female, but with a genital deformity. Her parents were advised to raise her as a male.
In her teen years, she decided to get surgery to correct her deformity and become female again.
She does have rather masculine facial features, however.
