China coronavirus spread is accelerating, Xi Jinping warns
BBC ^ | January 25th, 2020 | Unattributed

The country is facing a "grave situation" Mr Xi told senior officials, according to state television.

The coronavirus has killed at least 41 people and infected some 1,400 since its discovery in the city of Wuhan.

Travel restrictions have already hit several affected cities.

And from Sunday, private vehicles will be banned from central districts of Wuhan, the source of the outbreak.

A second emergency hospital is to be built there within weeks to handle 1,300 new patients, and will be finished in half a month, state newspaper the People's Daily said. It is the second such rapid construction project: work on another 1,000-bed hospital has already begun.

Specialist military medical teams have also been flown into Hubei province, where Wuhan is located.

The urgency reflects concern both within China and elsewhere about the virus which first appeared in December.

Your right but for Xi to publicly admit there is even a problem is conformation that the situation is more than just serious.

The irony here is that if this was a Biowar experiment gone bad that got out by accident, then China will bear the brunt of their own stupidity.

With the same thinking you don’t build 2,300 new hospital beds for 1,400 infected.

Logic says that China’s supreme leader would not publicly admit this if the problem weren’t orders of magnitude worse than what the press is reporting.

A lot of people are running around threads claiming there is no way this could be a bioweapon.

I say an emphatic BS.

Fort Detrick was shut down indefinitely by the CDC due to safety issues concerning biohazards. This is a US military research facility. (dont know if they have reopened)

And we are suppose to believe Commie China bioweapons facility is safer than Fort Detrick?

And we know from 2015 article that countries were most certainly looking at this as a bioweapon. They look at all kinds of things to make as bioweapons. This would have been on the radar. It was already man made in a lab.

Of course, China was looking at it.

As Black Agnes pointed out..there are all kinds of ways this could have been released in the wild via poor construction of that lab in the Province.

If it is a bioweapon it could be much more deadly as pointed out by Top Secret EVEN IF that is fan fiction written based on events.

But in the end, it is not contained. It is deadly. People should be looking at protecting themselves.

“Mechanical ventilation hopefully will help lower the mortality rate if it hits the west.”

How many mechanical ventilators do you think there are?

A few hours after reading this I clicked on a link in a FR thread to an article in a British paper that noted that the only bio-lab that deals with these sorts of things is located about 20 miles away from Wuhan and explained that they had had problems there.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-7922379/Chinas-lab-studying-SARS-Ebola-Wuhan-outbreaks-center.html

Not that reassuring.

I read a Canadian article from a couple of years ago where a Chicom spy was arrested trying to send the virus to China.

Really? Since when do Deplorables trust the Chinese govt? They're as honest as the Clintons.

If the Chinese govt "goes public" on something, you can be assured it is a diversionary tactic.

Does anyone remember that China's official GDP growth rate in 4Q2019 was the lowest in 29 years? What does the Communist govt fear more - a flu strain or loss of capital flows owing to foreign concern around the fundamentals of China's economy? Wither China?

Ah, but if the economy hits the shoals because of an alleged PANDEMIC, well...that's good - the GDP fall wasn't due to fundamentals. Keep investing.

Far fetched? Of course it is - it's not like anyone ever said you need to take advantage of a crisis (especially a manufactured one).

I bet a $50 pledge to the site that, in 60 days, this will be ancient history. Because we ALWAYS overreact to this kind of stuff.

CDC director warns that Congo’s Ebola outbreak may not be containable
washington post ^ | 11/05/2018 | Lena H. Sun

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield said Monday that the Ebola outbreak in conflict-ridden Congo has become so serious that international public health experts need to consider the possibility that it cannot be brought under control and instead will become entrenched.

This will crush their economy.

They know this.

They’re doing it anyways and being public about it.

That’s how bad this is.

I have some experience with sepsis. Killed a healthy young teenager. Time of death from Flu diagnosis to death from pneumonia/sepsis was less than 48 hours. Went into coma during the medevac. Symptomatic perhaps two days before diagnosis.

There have been some recent things that have helped with Sepsis but I don’t remember what they were. Perhaps I should research that again.

GTFO..that is a The Americans plot right there. They had quite a few episodes about a killer virus.

It will be quite something if we developed it, Chinese Commies stole it, and then screwed up and killed off their own people

Maybe that is what I am thinking. Don’t really remember.

Wonder if liposomal C would help if you get hit with flu/coronovirus/or whatever you have as soon as you start feeling sick.

Probably not. This is way too harsh of a virus..but does help with regular ole’ flu
