What’s next? State enforced rape?
Apparently we live in North Korea now? SUE the school- this crap has to stop
Well, they obviously aren’t Baptists...............
The school probably has this policy in place so that no kids will be wallflowers. If they didn’t have that policy, this mom would probably go ballistic when her daughter’s feelings were hurt because no one would dance with her. I guess the solution is to stop having the dances.
The best solution is to stop having schools, period — at least public ones.
A middle school dance is being equated with rape culture???
That is quite a quantum leap in reasoning isn’t it?
Is the daughter upset, or is mom the one who makes it a huge issue with thoughts of rape culture issues which she as an adult is thinking about?
So “no” does not mean no? Burn all those nasty pink hats.
If you can’t let kids be kids that’s the only solution! - No dances!
Hard to believe Kevin Bacon is 61 now......................
Schools, like any bureaucracy, are run by little Hitlers. These are losers who, on their own merits, would never be able to order anyone to do anything. However, empowered by their position in govt, they immediately abuse their authority.
Historically, there is only one solution to tyrants, large and small.
Or assign partners. No one should be forced to dance.
I think it is being equated with that because the boy has allegedly made public statements of a disturbing sexual nature. Why somebody is not finding out whether he made them and why he made them should be the real story.
I guess No means Yes in that liberal school. Me? Id say okay (if forced) then start hacking and coughing in the boy’s face, see how long that lasts.
Sure, and they expel a boy an call the cops when he gives a girl a light peck on the cheeks.
Filthy fascists!
Well, the story says the mother found the daughter crying in the kitchen, so it sounds like the daughter was upset.
And “rape culture” starts with the idea that if a boy wants something, they are entitled to it. In this case, it is a dance, with physical contact, according to the article.
This is an abhorrent policy. A girl, or a boy, has every right to say no. And I don’t care that this means some boys will get turned down. That’s life. She should be allowed to attend the dance, and dance if she wants, with whomever she wants that agrees to dance with her.
We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
‘Cause your friends don’t dance and if they don’t dance
Well, they’re no friends of mine
“No” vs “No, I’d rather sit in detention than dance with you”.
Which is more devastating.
