Yes he better lower expectations because we haven’t seen the body cam footage and we don’t have the full autopsy back but what we do know is Asphyxiation did not cause the death,

““Derek Chauvin cannot get a fair trial in Minnesota,”
He has no choice but to have a trial in Minnesota.”

Trial? I would be very surprised if this guy lives long enough to go to trial.

“Let me also note a dose of reality. Prosecuting police officers for misconduct, including homicide and murder, is very difficult, and if you look at the cases that have been in front of the public in the last many years, it’s easy to see that is true. Every single link in the prosecutorial chain will come under attack as we present this case to a jury or a fact finder.”
.
.
The reason in MOST not all but most high profile cases with LE being charged getting a NG verdict is they’re charged for political reasons and the evidence does not support the charges.

“I was curious about why 2 charges as well. Is this intended to allow a jury leeway to choose?”

Don't claim to be a lawyer but my guess is that the prosecutor, to prevent even more communities from being torched, had to announced quick-smart a charge that included the word “murder.” Third degree murder.

But since the exculpatory evidence already announced undercuts the murder charge, the prosecutor has included a lesser charge of second degree manslaughter just in case the jury decides they would “like to do something” to save the reputation of Garrison Keillor's Minnesota.

And a 20-year sentence for manslaughter for someone over 40 might be a life sentence. That could help slake the mobs appetite for vengeance.

The summers are really nice up there. Sometimes they fall on a weekend.

He’d still have to beat the expected Federal “civil rights” charges

We’ll see. If DJT is president and the case is dismissed or he’s found NG, I don’t think he’ll go after him.

We have to wait and see.

Ellison, who lied about having dinner with Louis Farrakhan and the Iranian leader Rouhani ... maybe he should investigate the murder of Malcolm X first?

Didn't a former AG named Amy Klochbar decline to prosecute this scumbag Chauvin?

Someone please correct me if I am misinformed.

Mr Floyd never had a chance. The dirty rat cop and the blind racists who feel for the creep cop should suck it.

Antifa has been waiting for a spark. The dumb ass cop threw the match and now the country is burning.

Ellison posted the tweet of him holding the Antifa handbook or whatever it was a while back. Making him the lead could come back to haunt them as that will play well for the defense saying the DA is not impartial.

The sick part is that Ellison might actually be *less* corrupt than the current Minneapolis DA.__________________________

Mike Freman is a sissy. He is so afraid to make a decision. He learned from Amy Klobucher. A 3rd degree murder charge is used to signal to the police that “something” has to be done, so let’s charge a 3rd degree murder.

I don’t know how to read Keith Ellison, but he is a black man first. We should watch to see what he does. I bet all the white democRATS in MN are relieved to have Keith Ellison be the enforcer. One wouldn’t want to look like they hate blacks
