The US has become an unofficial empire that lets most of its satellites keep their own flags and set most of their own domestic policies as long as they openly support LGBTQ efforts. They MUST put forward a unified, interventionist foreign policy and if they don't, their government gets replaced thru regime change, which is not always successfully. There are no apologies for the death and destruction these failed efforts bring, they simply move on to the next protect fueled with as many $ tax dollars as it takes

The taproot of the trouble is NATO enlargement, the central element of a larger strategy to move Ukraine out of Russia’s orbit and integrate it into the West.

Ukraine is an independent country and is free to join any alliances it wants. Russia has no right to claim that it must be in "its orbit."

Russia has been exposed, the band-aid ripped off, and they have so vastly been reduced in the world’s eyes.

I always explain to the propagandized, “I’ve got a Ukraine lawn sign” cucks - how to understand what’s happening in Ukraine?

Imagine if/when the USA’s own bloated socialist government collapses due to massive debt, bloated government, decades of war, and cynical woke social engineering.

We could all imagine a place like Texas deciding it would be better OUT of the union.

Now imagine Texas forming a military alliance with China and Mexico, having a coup arranged by Chinese intelligence and money, and then starting a cultural war and genocide against anglos and english-speakers in Texas.

You will start to understand what is happening in Ukraine.

The disastrous energy policy of the loser Biden adminstration caused the Ukraine invasion. Period.

Ludicrous delusion #1.

LOL. And the CIA, EU and all the NGO money we can muster will make sure they choose to join the correct alliance. And if they do not choose the correct alliance, as Ukraine did in 2010, well - we'll flip the government to make sure they do choose correctly.

Just like Cuba?

“We could all imagine a place like Texas deciding it would be better OUT of the union.”

Do you believe that NATO creating an alliance with Ukraine is an intentionally offensive position, meant to threaten the safety and existence of Russia? Or, on the other hand, is it, like all NATO arrangements, a defensive intervention meant to halt the hegemonic intentions of Russia? If the latter, then your Texas analogy is faulty.

What?

I thought it was genocide?
I thought it was biolabs?
I thought Ukraine was working on a nuclear weapon?
I thought Ukraine wasn't a real state?
I thought Ukraine didn't have a right to exist apart from Russia?

Russia has been grasping as straws for an excuse to justify their most recent land grab. Which I remind you follows a string of land grabs.

Didn't Russia say they needed buffer states too? Of course annexing them eliminates the buffer. So that was a lie too. I guess they'll need more buffer states. Of course they want more buffer states.

Well good job Putin. You had the west playing deference to your desires. Now you convinced Sweden, and Finland to join NATO. And Ukraine has applied for fast track status with at least 9 of 30 countries supporting them now even with a war going on.

As soon as Russia gets kicked out of Ukrainian territories, Ukraine will be accepted into NATO.

Why? Because Russia invadeds it's neighbors.

Horsecrap.

Every single region of Ukraine voted for independence in 1991, even Crimea.

Putin thought he had it in the bag when he erected his factotum Yanukovych. The Ukrainians revolted when he rejected an economic treaty with the EU, and the Ukrainian parliament elected a successor after he fled.

Putin has simply never gotten over Russia's relegation to a 2nd or 3rd rank world power after the Soviet Union collapsed.

It's now clear that many Russians expected the US to recognize a Russian "sphere of influence" in Eastern Europe, but when the locals objected and we assisted, they blamed the US when it was simply their own illusions shattering. The Russians still can't fathom that the Ukrainians are capable of making their own decisions and that they are kicking the Russian army's butt, so they have to blame the US.

Mearsheimer is in love with theory of great power politics to the point that he prefers a return to the system that brought us two world wars. He's an educated idiot.

Do you believe that NATO creating an alliance with Ukraine is an intentionally offensive position, meant to threaten the safety and existence of Russia?

YES, of course it is. How would you feel about Chinese military bases in Amarillo, in the free-and-sovereign nation of Texas? Anti-aircraft systems? state-of-the-art fighter jets? But Xi Jinping said they are all purely defensive!

Or, on the other hand, is it, like all NATO arrangements, a defensive intervention meant to halt the hegemonic intentions of Russia?

Nonsense. Non-offensive? Just ask Serbia, Syria, or Libya about NATO. Ask Germany what happens to your independent gas-line connections if you step out of line.

Can’t Ukraine set its own destiny, as it sees fit? Has it not the right to do so?

Last time I checked the US government never murdered 20 million Texans using forced starvation.

Ukraine wants to be free of Russia.

And the Russian point of invading Ukraine is BS. Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia are former USSR republics and border Russia. They are all members of NATO. And none of them want to rejoin Russia. They still remember the “socialist paradise” they lived under.

Ukraine is corrupt. Russia is even more corrupt.

And even if your hyperbole is correct re: Ukraine - is it globohomo Washington DC super-cop's duty to rectify this situation?

You act as if it's an independent nation. It's a vassal state, kneeling deeply and often to Biden's Liberal World Order.
