Jimmy Carter’s post-presidential life outshined the time he spent at the White House and won him the praise of the progressive left — a more dominant part of the Democratic Party 42 years after the end of his presidency.
Carter, 98, is a figure beloved by many Democrats in 2023 despite the difficulties of his administration. He’s respected for creating a footprint as a global humanitarian and peacebuilder in a bitterly divided world.
To liberals, his imprint on their movement is especially profound.
“President Carter promoted progressive issues well before they became mainstream,” said Joseph Geevarghese, executive director of Our Revolution, a grassroots group that formed with Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) first presidential campaign. “His continued interest in public service laid the groundwork for modern day activists to take up causes from environmental justice to workers rights to universal health care.”

I considered being a military “lifer” till I had to deal with Carter,as CIC. I left alive.

People forget a prime interest rate of 21%, negative economic growth, inflation of 22%, the bungled Iranian hostage situation and attempted rescue, and countless other missteps. I think it’s a tie between Jimmy and Obama as the Worst President in the history of the US.

Biden has brought that truth to a new low. CRT is part of basic training and women in the military have to shower with creeps who say they are female and if they complain they are charged with insubordination.
Take a look at every picture of him after he has certified a stolen election of a tyrant as "oh so clean". Look at how happy he is that the citizens of that country will be raped, tortured and murdered by their own government.
He glows with joy.
That, in my book, is not a nice person.

He did exactly what he set out to do.
He weakened America considerably and gave us the Department of Education that has been the main mover in creating our current mess.

Best ex-president ever. And a veteran, which most recent presidents cannot claim. And with Biden, now he doesn’t look so bad. Very patriotic compared to Obama and Biden. I think history will eventually show Carter not so bad after all.
Jimmy Carter is a really nice guy. His personal faith and charity should be an example to us all.
He was a disaster as POTUS, and sadly, at core he is another leftist that wants the power of government to push his personal agenda.

You are correct. He is not a nice guy. That is a media creation.
The left started loving him we he started embracing hard left causes.
Compared to Obama, Clinton, and Biden he definitely looks good. Whatever disagreement I might have had with his policies, I’ve always considered Carter basically a decent and honest man as far as politicians go.
