“Are you serious? DeSantis is all about the GOP establishment. He panders you them continuously.”

You continue the trope without evidence. How, exactly, does DeSantis demonstrate he is beholden to the establishment. What actions show this? Your defense of Trump by using guilt by association rather than facts shows emotional scum over your eyes.

Especially since he’s attacking only DeSantis.

This is not true. DeSantis is not.

It’s not that DeSantis supporters are attacking Trump. It’s that Trump and his supporters are attacking DeSantis — and doing so from the left.

Ryan was he compromise choice, if you recall. He was used to stop a more liberal candidate.

So if he couldn’t overcome the fraud as an incumbent in 2020, how is he supposed to overcome it in 2024 as a non-incumbent challenger?

The fraud is not meant to be overcome. The fraud happens when the votes are being counted and the lights go out long enough to calculate and squeak out the winning number for the democrats.

Do you think they are going to instantly become honest and fair in 2024? Do you think they are going to play fair with Ron DeSantis?

Why would they unless he is on their side? People talk about the 2024 election like the playing field is normal and fair. The democrats have a demented perverted old coot who does what they say in the WH and they do not seem in the slightest bit worried they will not win in 2024.

That’s a good point, and I posted a few others earlier in the thread.

Which POTUS was as successful as Trump? Look at what Trump accomplished:

  1. Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
  2. Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
  3. Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
  4. Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
  5. US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
  6. No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
  7. China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
  8. US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
  9. Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated.
  10. Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?

“He and Jonah Goldberg equally suck”

IIRC Rich Lowry was a 19 yr old GOP fratboy when Bill Buckley gave him the keys to National Review. Lowry was the first iteration of Buckley wrecking NR before Trixie Goldberg’s porky son Jonah finished the job.

Unless you had been reading NR by the Carter years you can’t appreciate how great NR once was before the Bush toadies got hold of it.

By the end of the Reagan years the much smaller Chronicles magazine was already forshadowing what we would eventually call MAGA; read Sam Francis’ old columns and you see it immediately. Ideas precede political movements by decades.

In 2020 the race was tight because of Covid. Without Covid, Trump would have won in a landslide. Had the election been in 2018, is it even a question who would have won? It was Covid which took away Trump’s biggest advantage: low inflation, low unemployment, real net wage growth for the middle class, real estate values rising, GDP growth far beyond expert predictions. It’s hard to steal an election when one side has an apparent and distinct victory: https://www.nytimes.com/elections/2016/results/president

People today are not happy. No matter what MSNBC and CNN claim, the corpse Biden is highly unpopular and people realize what they voted for: a corrupt political dynasty that stays in power by giving all the oligarchs and big corporations / financial institutions what they want.

Pharma is happy, those that want China trade are happy. Warren Buffett that doesn’t want a pipeline competing with his railroad is happy. Big tech concerned about an FCC breaking up monopolies is happy. The big unions are happy. The big insurance companies are happy. The big multinational corporations and financial institutions which want Ukraine got what they wanted, at least he tried. ***But all those “mom and pop shops” the common man from Scranton who rolls up his sleeves talks about, they’re getting it royally up the ass in the form of hidden taxes (CO2 fees), inflation, lack of available labor, growth in government regulatory requirements.***

It is ironic that a billionaire from New York who made his wealth from real estate and casinos, ivy league educated, more or less secular in his life, from a wealthy family, did more for the churches, middle class, blue collar and industrial worker than ANYONE else Republican or Democrat post WWII besides possibly Ronald Reagan. Yes, I think he’ll win.

DeSantis voted for Ryan twice for House Speaker when he was a Congressman. Just going with the flow.

Add to that DeSantis said, "I could be somebody like Paul Ryan".

Link

Add to that, Paul Ryan has said that DeSantis is on his short list for the nomination.

Add to that, Paul Ryan is board member of the Fox, a "news" network that wants to make Trump "a nonperson".

Add to that Paul Ryan says that Trump will not win the nomination.

And I could go on and say similar things about Karl Rove and the Bushes wanting and pushing DeSantis.

imho 2024 has nothing to do with personality or politics or policy. Its all about balloting. Dems have made it that way. On so many levels 2024 is going to be a steal. Its heart breaking that the pubs don’t seem interested in how the dems are doing the steal. Much less figuring out ways to counter the steal.

Currently 2024 being set up so that no republican can win and no democrat can lose (except maybe the veep)

That’s why the dems have no respect at all for public opinion.

They’ve got Americans in a heads we win/tails you lose situation.

Trump might be president today if he had been more active in shutting down the riots of 2020.
