In letters addressed to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Vice President Harris in her capacity as president of the Senate, Biden outlined his alternative pay plan for an across-the-board pay increase of 4.7 percent and locality pay increases averaging 0.5 percent, for an overall average increase of 5.2 percent.

Pay raise for administrative state should be exactly the Fed target eg 2%

"What's that Mr bureaucrat? Inflation is higher than 2%? I guess the Fed f**ked up and f**ked you too"

(Otherwise, perversely, there is incentive to make policies that raise inflation)

Does the raise also include funds for voice trainers to ensure the Dim pols can laugh whole heartedly as their constituents are being evicted from their homes?

Must be nice. 2% is what I might see in about a year. It’s ridiculous.

How about at least 5.2% increase for our Social Security, Joe?

It ought to be higher than that.

How about American taxpayer money for American taxpayers?

govt employees should make no more than the median salary of the districts they serve

this would also encourage govt types to improve the fortunes of the constituents while ensuring they’re not the ‘elite’

“Sure! Give the feds a 5% raise! After a 50% cut in the number of federal employees for the next 20 years.”

Why wait 20 years. Replace them with illegal aliens, now.

Public service salaries should be tied to a factor of private industry wages vs inflation. The more people in the private sector fall behind due to inflation, the lower the salaries of government workers and politicians.
