IBM certainly has gone downhill from the days of Thomas J. Watson on North Street in Endicott NY, and the sales rallies at IBM Glen. All gone now.
Keynote speaker in IBM’s New Manager School decades ago told the white people among us that we should be ashamed to be taking a leadership position from a person of color, if I understood him correctly.
I think this has been coming for 20-30 years.

IBM is a dinosaur company. The last time anything exciting came out of IBM was in 1997 when Deep Blue beat Kasparov (barely).

Pretty much the same story in the governmen.
First, you’re given a ‘goal’ for minority representation in your organization.
Second, you have to justify promotions of whites in writting.
Third, you don’t have to justify promoting people of color.
But, no, that’s not discrimination.
Need to Sue just about every large corporation that exists. They are all doing this crap.
A board member on an all hands call at my last company flat out said if you are white and deserving you won’t get promoted
It’s amazing in the IT world how quickly it goes from “We need more diversity” to “We need to get more work out more quickly by any means necessary”.
I had a boss who set out to hire a black programmer. He ended up bypassing good candidates to hire a BS artist. He finally and mercifully got a better job somewhere, got fired from that immediately for lying on his resume and tried to sue us for wrongful termination. My boss didn’t hire any more diverse programmers.
Big Blue ain’t so big anymore.
Good, this nonsense is unacceptable and in the long run will destroy this country.
America is a generous but merit based country.
