Twenty-three Democrat run states and the District of Columbia, the home of our nation’s capital, filed amicus briefs in support of government censorship and banning of free speech in the United States.

These 23 states and the District of Columbia filed amicus briefs in support of the Biden administration in the SCOTUS case is Murthy, et al v. Missouri, et al, 23-411 (Missouri v. Biden) case.

The states essentially argue that they have an interest in collaborating with tech companies to “encourage” the public to behave themselves and “discourage” the public from believing alleged “disinformation” or engaging in online predatory behavior. The clear message is that they believe that the government has the right to shut down and censor speech.

The list of un-American states that support government censorship include:

New York Colorado Arizona California Connecticut Vermont, Washington, Washington, D.C. Wisconsin New Jersey New Mexico, Oregon Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada

HOWEVER, a number of courageous states filed an Amicus Curiae brief in SUPPORT of Gateway Pundit and the Free Speech Respondents. These (16) heroic states include:

Godless, communist RATs cannot stand Truth.....they fear it more than a bullet because it’s contrary to all their plans, goals and beliefs and would put em “out of business”. They have to find a way to shut it down, and we’re looking right at it.

I like what one poster (Giancarlo) said there:

I used to be a Democrat. I thought everything should be free. I thought I deserved everything I wanted with no questions asked. I thought everybody else should pay my way.

Then I turned four.

That’s what I understood when I was run off Facebook in 2020

On another thread I posted that FB demanded that I upload my "government ID" or I could not log on. A naive FR poster told me they only do that if somebody hacks your account. I seriously doubt that was the case for me, (unless FB authentication was broken), but in any case, I am not going to give my ID to a company that sells user data. That was several years ago, and I have not missed FB at all.

And we should not forget what FB did in the 2020 election.

“All of the 23 states have in common is the fact that they have Democrat Governors.”

And in the case of Wisconsin, pathetic republicans holding majorities in both the state house and senate.

From Wikipedia:

Murthy v. Missouri (originally filed as Missouri v. Biden) is a case pending in the Supreme Court of the United States involving the First Amendment, the federal government, and social media. The states of Missouri and Louisiana, led by Missouri’s then Attorney General Eric Schmitt, filed suit against the U.S. government in the Western District of Louisiana. They claimed that the federal government pressured social media companies to censor conservative views and criticism of the Biden administration in violation of the right to freedom of expression. The government said it had only made requests, not demands, that social media operators remove misinformation.

On July 4, 2023, Judge Terry A. Doughty issued a preliminary injunction against several agencies and members of the Biden administration from contacting social media services to request the blocking of material, with exceptions for material involving illegal activity. On appeal, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals found that there had been some coercion in the government’s contact with social media companies in violation of the First Amendment, but narrowed the extent of Doughty’s injunction to block any attempts by the government to threaten or coerce moderation on social media. The United States Supreme Court initially stayed the Fifth Circuit’s order, then granted review of the case by writ of certiorari. It is set to be heard during the 2023–24 term.

Wonder what happened to North Dakota and texas. I would have expected those to join in. New Hampshire is also notably absent. And a handful of others

Yeah, but that is Vos & other RINOs who are yet another big issue in Wisconsin . That is a separate but an important issue within the RINO infested Republican Party. All younger Republicans need to get involved in the party in order to take over the Republican Party apparatus, because RINOs are worthless scum who only care about personal enrichment.

They have made in abundantly clear that they do not care about their base, anymore than the Democrats care about their base. They would just as soon see illegal alien replacements take their place, in order that their spot at the feeding trough is not imperiled.

It was so bad on Facebook in 2020, I would post something political on Facebook, and none of my friends would see it. Then I’d get a “fact-checked” statement by some company in France. France??? I’d also get responses from Facebook telling me to check the election results.

Meanwhile, there is a bill passed by the House which would let Biden approve which software is banned. I have never used TikTok. This bill goes way beyond that. The last thing we should do is give Biden more power.
