Hey man, don't feel pregnant..

It took phone calls and a personal threat to get a computer out of a local (fortunately) ebayer who refused to ship 60 days after the mo was cashed..

Ebay and their mediation BS doesn't seem to be very effective.

Seems like you are on your own on Ebay.. Regardless of what they say.

Good luck..ebay does squat to protect sellers although they collect all your vital info to do so. I doubt you will get much more than a pat answer from ebay "customer service". Best of luck to you and I got my credit back right away when I did the form the other poster mentioned.

Dennisw, I had to do this process several months ago myself. It is a long drawn out process (cause Ebay people are greedy arxes). You have to send a non paying bidder warning first to the bidder, then wait a durn month or so for them not to respond (I have never heard of them actually responding if they will not respond to your emails). After the time elapses (and you still remember it) you go back and post another form and they will credit it back to your account. It takes a durn couple of months to follow through, but I would do it just to make sure that rip-off Ebay didn't get it.

They will pay eventually

Try here. Pick the topic from the drop-down that comes closest to your concern. Be sure to include your phone number in the message field and the time frame when they can reach you. They will call.

Thank I will go there. Amazing ebay has no e-mail address.

Try:

support@ebay.com

It may take a week or two for someone to get back to you to answer your question, but "usually" you get a form letter back within a day stating "Thanks for your inquiry...blah, blah, blah...Your question is important to us...blah, blah, blah...one of aour associates will investigate your question and will shortly email with a response".

"Does anybody know how to get chenille bedspread marks out of your face when the doorbell rings?"

Use a hot iron. Works every time.

For future reference, you must file a non-paying bidder alert when a winning bidder doesn't pay. You must do this within 45 days of the auction closing. You must then wait 10 days (actually the 11th day) after you have filed a non-paying bidder alert before you can request credit for the final value fee. Once you do that, your account will be credited with the amount. Be advised that if a bidder is no longer a registered user, you will be able to file the non-paying bidder alert and request credit at the same time. Ebay's site will automatically take you to the credit request page. Don't forget to leave negative feedback for the moron who didn't honor the auction agreement.

Thanks much 55th. I have seen the memorial plaque across the street from the State House more than a few times.

My problem was with PayPal, and I finally got my $$$ back when California and Minnesota states attorney generals hounded them.

Of course this was for several thousand, so I don't think the SAGs would get excited about an $8 fee. I've some Ukrainian friends who now live in Budapesht, if you have that guy's address maybe we could scare him ;-)

You know, Ebay and PayPal started out with tiny or no fees and have steadily increased these while decreasing service. I suppose it's the nature of monopolies.

I found a neat site that I've had good luck with for my sort of toys: Gunbroker.com, which I understand Ebay won't handle. Good luck!

Ain't it the truth. Too bad Yahoo auctions can't seem to achieve lift off. I have bought stuff on that site. And thanks for the kind offer of Ukrainian assistance to help straighten out this matter. Do they do knee capping?

Don't want to seem like a killjoy, but expecting personalized service on an $8 claim seems excessive. Maybe Ebay isn't doing everything it could, but if they refunded fees immediately after every claim they would be run out of business in a week. Maybe the world just isn't perfect.

No problem. Your perspective is good. At the same time I can order something over the internet from newegg (great people BTW) and if there is an 8$ overcharge I can get someone on THE PHONE in five minutes. WHILE at eBay I can't even really e-mail them.

ON TOP OF THIS I can often get a better deal at newegg on a computer part than I can at eBay. How you like them apples? There is a new ECS motherboard ( K7S6A) that some clown is trying to hawk for $100+ at eBay. Strictly for suckers only. While at newegg is calmly and quietly going for $70 with $6 shipping and handling.

You can enter K7S6A into eBay search/ into pricewatch search and over at www.newegg.com. WORST deal is at eBay.

I love Ebay, but stopped trying to find computer bargains there. It's at its best when buying or selling unusual stuff.

They do knees, elbows, shoulderblades, but not windows! Actually, they're pretty normal, just a bit rough around the edges ;-)

Your friends look like a great bunch, a happy bunch who would be right at home at one of those Brighton Beach restaurants that have the caviar piled high, live music and free flowing vodka.
