It was "State of Shock" back sometime in the 80's. Why did everybody think doing a duet with Michael Jackson (McCartney, Jagger, even Eddie Van Halen with his solo on Beat It), would help their career?

And Aerosmith lost all their rocker credibility when they appeared with Justin and Britney at the Super Bowl a few years ago.

The afternoon kicked off on a low point for Timberlake when a concertgoer's sign questioning the singer's sexuality made it to the jumbotrons for about 15 seconds.

IMO, that was an uncessary cheap shot and the responsible camera man should have been fired.

Rush is probably the greatest live act I've ever seen. Their music sounds pretty close to the CD versions

In addition to McCartney, Jagger appeared on the Jackson's "State of Shock" which was on the Victory album (circa 1984).

That reminds me:

Rapper Missy Elliott reportedly snubbed pop superstar Madonna on the set of the commercial they shot together for clothes company Gap. According to American magazine, the New York Metro, the Work It star kept the singer waiting while she sat in her car chatting - and then refused an invitation to spend time with the Material Girl at her Los Angeles home. Elliott had told television reporters in America this week how honored she felt to appear alongside Madonna in the advertisement. She gushed, "I always dreamed of working with Madonna because I always thought that if I had any kind of connection with another artist it would be Madonna." However, according to the Metro, Missy kept Madonna waiting for 45 minutes while she spoke on the phone, and then when the singer tapped on the window to encourage her to hurry up - Elliott reportedly dismissed her with a flick of the hand. Missy then snubbed Madonna's attempts to get the pair to bond, by turning down an invitation to her swanky LA pad. The magazine claims Elliott only cooperated with Madonna - who has been paid $10 million to promote Gap - when handlers advised her it was in her best interests.

Why does everyone keeps giving Madonna lucrative work? She flopping in everything she does.

The guy that should have been fired was the guy that actually put Justin on the bill with the likes of the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Rush, in the first place. Geez, that was like Herman's Hermits opening up for Jimi Hendrix.

Jagger, Timberlake, bah. The only difference there is age.

The Guess Who is the only band in the lineup I'd even want to see, though not if they charged money.

Madonna's billable time is probably a lot cheaper than it used to be. And she's driven to stay in the spotlight, no matter how cheap it gets.

Here's a better idea. Timberlake should fire his agent, instead of letting him book this gig. Trying to cram a fromer nSync member down the throats of a crowd that showed up for Rush, the Stones, and The Geuss Who was like begging them to mock him. If Timberlake had been at Altamont, I have no doubt in my mind that somebody would have tried to kill him.

IMHO, Rush is the greatest band around. They are each virtuosos with their respective instruments and their lyrics are great. I especially enjoy their Ayn Rand inspired tunes like Anthem, 2112, Freewill, Something for Nothing, and others.

I can proudly state that I predicted this on a previous thread (like that was difficult). What do I win?

The older Madonna gets, the floppier she gets :-)

I have no doubt in my mind that somebody would have tried to kill him.

And they would have had help from most of the crowd.

I agree with at too. I just think the jumbotron bit was uncalled for.

And from the bad band mix file: back in `73 or 4, I went to see T.Rex in concert....they were the opening act for Three Dog Night.

Bolan sacred about a third of the audience out of the arena.
