The editorial board of the New York Times declared it had identified the source of The Catholic Churchs Unholy Stain. It names pedophilia and asks: How have so many pedophiles been allowed into the priesthood?
The question was purely rhetorical because the board had an answer ready. It cited the usual grounds: the all-male priesthood and the celibacy imposed on Catholic priests; the elitism, careerism and clericalism of the church hierarchy; the lack of transparency or accountability among bishops. Most damning is the power a man of God has over a child.
Every parent knows instinctively that sexual abuse of the young and vulnerable is an evil that cries out for punishment, swift and severe. Anything less mocks the harm done by abusive priests. Equally inadequateand blameworthyare expressions of sympathy for the abused that disguise the elephant in the rectory. The first responsibility is to call things by their right name.
Ignoring the Issue Will Prevent Addressing It
To casual readers, duly angered, the Times charge sounds about right. More thoughtful ones, however, will hesitate over the word pedophilia. With few exceptions, sexual abuse by priests has been visited overwhelmingly upon pubescent boys, and young men, most often teenagers. This is pederasty, not pedophilia. And pederasty is endemic to gay culture. (For an unsparing indictment of that culture by a gay man, read Jason Hills Loveless, Narcissistic Sex Addicts in The Federalist.)
Without intending to, the Times studied determination to ignore homosexual predation as the culprit parallels the Catholic Churchs dilemma. How is the hierarchy to work at restoring trust, instituting accountability, and eradicating the cancer of sexual abuse without acknowledging a subject inoculated from judgment by reigning opinion?

You are correct BB. In my catholic high school, we had some grotesque sinners, me included. Not everyone was like that, but a bunch of them were.
When I got saved, and left the Catholic Church, my dad said he thought he wasted all that time trying to make me devout. I just said I was infinitely more devout, since I left the one true church. My one sister, went ballistic when I left, but in the coming years, they knew I was different, and now my sister left the Catholic Church, and is now a very Godly woman. I dont know if my mom and dad ever made their peace with God, but I hope they did.
You’re handling of the Word is abysmal.
Thats the perfect passage for condemning Roman Catholicisms traditions that it elevates equal to or above Scripture.
Exactly MM. The one true church, holds sacred tradition above scripture. Not at all conducive to an enjoyable eternity. Just the opposite in fact. It could lead Jesus to say, I never knew you.
Sometimes I just shake my head, and wonder, if some people arent looking forward to the flames 🔥 of Hell. It really puzzles me sometimes. 👎 Most people seem so unconcerned about the hear after, until it jumps up and bites them, by then, however, its too late, and they are irrevocably committed forever, to follow the path they have chosen. What a scary thought, but thats what is waiting for millions. They will scream in agony and torture, but guess what? No one hears, and no one cares. If that doesnt motivate people, to make their peace with God, then nothing will. Remember, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31.
And everyone of them words rang true And glowed like burnin' coal Pourin' off of every page Like it was written in my soul From me to you
I know bro. I am just yanking your chain. 😁 You are right. Its the slime bags who come here. I would say there are more Europeans than anything else. They hang around the malls, and stick out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately, they take advantage of women who dont have a pot to do something in.
On the other hand, there are a number of women, who are essentially running semi extortion rackets too. They will claim to be single, and after awhile, the husband comes forward, tells the guy she is married, and demands money, or he will do a Brett Kavanaugh move on them. So, sometimes the scam goes both ways.
There are lots of guys, who are genuinely looking for wives. I got me one of those Filipina Asian blow up dolls, as another Freeper so eloquently put it. They seem to prefer Americans, over other foreigners. 👍
