FULL TITLE: Tennessee sheriff's detective who is also a pastor calls for government executions of LGBT people in sermon

A detective in Tennessee has sparked outrage by delivering a church sermon calling for the government to execute LGBT people.

Knox County Sheriff's Detective Grayson Fritts made the remarks on Sunday while preaching at the All Scripture Baptist Church in Knoxville, where he is a pastor.

'If you do not hate the homosexual then you are in violation and God's wrath will be upon you,' Fritts said. 'I don't think that the government is going to be putting them to death tomorrow. But can we agree at least that that's what Leviticus 20:13 says?'

The church posted the full video of the sermon, titled 'Sodomite Reprobrates', on Facebook and YouTube.

On Wednesday evening, with several members of the local press in attendance, Fritts defended his remarks in another fiery sermon.

'The sermon I preached about sodomy is what the Bible says! And hey, if you don't like it, just say "I don't believe the Bible,"' he said.

'I'm not calling anyone in here to violence. I'm saying it's the government's responsibility,' said Fritts.

Speaking to news outlets Wednesday, Fritts said his beliefs didn't affect his work in the sheriff's office.

On Wednesday, after reports of the Sunday sermon emerged, Knox Sheriff Tom Spangler issued a statement saying that Fritts had asked two weeks ago to take a county buyout offer.

Spangler said he agreed, and Fritts is on paid sick leave until the buyout takes effect July 19, ending his employment as a deputy.

I have a question - since Sodom and Gomorrah happened pre-commandments, why wasn’t homosexuality addressed on the tablets?

It was. That commandment "Thou shalt not commit adultery." covers it. When the text was translated into English, "adultery" is the closest English word to describe the meaning, but the word in the original language means any sex outside the bounds of lawful marriage.

Homosexuality is sex that is outside the bounds of lawful marriage, so it is covered under that "Thou shalt not commit Adultery" commandment when understood in the original language.

They can take it a bit too far. Was almost picked up myself by a gang of poofters while just walking the streets of Palm Springs. For some reason, they stopped and walked away just a foot or two from grabbing me. Must have smelt bad or something lol. They definitely have issues going forward, but death at this point would be a bit too much.

I have been studying homosexuality for several decades, and from what i've learned, they are a lot more dangerous than most people realize. For the last couple of decades they have been getting positive press and positive coverage in the media, but these media people simply will not report anything derogatory about them. There is a *LOT* of derogatory information about them out there, but it is routinely screened out of any coverage about homosexuals.

The original Nazis are good example of what Homosexuals do when they get real power. I was shocked to learn that most of the sadists in the Nazi chain of command were homosexuals, and most especially the people running the camps and those who were members of the SS. The Nazi party actually began as a homosexual club, and most people are unaware of this.

I'm not saying we should embrace the bible directive of killing them, but I fully believe we should keep a very close watch on them. They are in fact quite dangerous in myriad sorts of ways.

Interesting connection: Nazis=Homosexuals, serial killers=Homosexuals, traitors=Homosexuals, spread of AIDS=Homosexuals, child molestation=Homosexuals. And then end with: “We should have wiped them out...”)

The thought pattern is obvious, and my father would completely agree with you. Fred Phelps would also.

As I lament often, people see what they want to see. Of all the profound points I made, the only thing you get out of it is I'm like Fred Phelps or something.

You want to believe what you want to believe, and I want to see the world as it really is. Not as I would prefer it to be. I don't want to be misled by illusions.

Oh yeah. And the problem in Palm Springs was that the police were almost as bad. Two gay cops walking on the side walk, looked at my clothes, and kinda smirked. They knew I was straight. I would have gotten no help from them.

In the 1950s, most of the world locked up homosexuals in mental institutions. Nowadays we let them be police officers.

The planet has gone nuts.

Have you even read Lavitisu 20:13? God calls them an abomination ... do you know what THAT means?

Have you ever heard of ‘missing on purpose’? If he has maintained his range time as required, he would make more hits. Since he has been a deputy in good standing I will assume he can hit what he wants to hit and miss what he wants to miss.

I'm not disagreeing with your perspective, but let me unpack this issue a bit more.

Paul's instructions to the Corinthian believers regarding a man who was living carnally with his father's wife(!) were to put the man out of their company. Presumably this was to prevent the infection of debauchery from pulling other BELEIVERS into ruin.

Paul stated plainly that this actions was to deliver the man over to satan for the destruction of the body so his soul would be saved in the last accounting.

Now, applying that Holy Spirit directed wisdom to the issue of the thread, American societal embrace of the sodomites and the rest of the sexually degenerate alphabet fagotry makes this nation a target of God's 'destruction of the flesh' because such tolerance of evil infects our children and members of the Body of Christ, the collection of all believers in Him as Savior and Lord.

Should the fagotry be put to death? No, Paul instructs to 'put them out of the company', so our national action ought to be to shun them and shame them, not embrace them as worthy fellow citizens. Sadly, the degenerate faction is so important to demon rat political empowerment that the nation is sacrificed by tolerating evil in our midst.

You have a caricature in your mind, and you are bound and determined to fit me into the mold you see.

You have a cartoon view of life, and I hadn't planned to bother you any further, but since you want to reengage I'll ask you the question I have been wondering about since you first spoke up.

What are you gonna do when the Muslims dominate?

It's already happening in Europe.

I've found this video to be quite informative on the topic. It lays out the case without bias, and for anyone with wisdom, the writing is on the wall.

https://youtu.be/6-3X5hIFXYU

The Muslims fully embrace every comical notion you have about Christianity, and they do so unapologetically.

So what are you gonna do when the Muslims dominate? Lecture them about "tolerance", or something?

I tend to oppose religious extremism no matter what form it presents itself. In fact, extreme views annoy me in general but religion is special because its based on ancient laws of all sorts depending on the religion. Extreme Islamists are more dangerous than extreme Christians in my opinion. Both make me nervous.

For the record, I have a problem with deviant behavior in any form. Religion used as an excuse to murder qualifies.

I believe the original point I made was that the man is correct, the bible does say that. But here in America, we haven't executed anyone for buggery since George Washington.

Nobody is seriously suggesting that homosexuals be rounded up and executed. Maybe rounded up and put back in mental institutions as was the historical norm in this country for most of it's existence, but not executed.

Most rational people simply regard them as mentally ill and leave it at that.

This is what I mean about you having a cartoon view of life. Your bugbears are "religious extremists".

So how does a non religious society look from your perspective? The Godless communists murdered over 100 million people in the last century. Only the Muslims have murdered as many, and it took them 1500 years to equal the score of the atheists.

People talk about the dangers of religion, and often cite the "Inquisition", but over a 300 year period, the inquisition killed about 65,000 people. The Atheist communists would laugh at that, and so would the Muslims.

The people you should be afraid of are the Communist/Socialists (with Venezuela being a recent example of their murderous ideology) and the Muslims, who rape, assault and murder their way into power.

"Christian extremists" ought to be waaaaaay down your list of things to worry about.

Right. Cause you kill the flesh, you release the soul. And it will torment its killer anytime it can. For the soul to leave the planet on it’s own accord is more or less impossible. Just assuming speed of travel. If it managed to leave the planet, it would more or less be lost in space never able to catch another planet. Theoritically speaking of course. That is why it is better to have the soul still in the body. Getting through in the flesh may eventually be possible, but a lot of changes are required IMHO. Improved and updated immune systems for example.

No, my position is that once God gave us the Commandments, it was what was required of us....and the New Covenant, purchased with the Blood of Jesus, makes the old obsolete...remember folks, deciding to keep up circumcision and other old ways, being chastised for having fallen from Grace by continuing to do the old covenant rituals and try to earn their own way????
If we couldn’t keep 10 simple commandments, and God decided to finally remove us from the folly of those who demanded those commandments, do you really think He will tell us that we have to parse through the Old Covenant and not do any of the things He said He didn’t like or be doomed to hell? If you do, then you also believe the Blood of Jesus isn’t enough and he wasted His time by being crucified for us.
That’s my position - I know I cannot go a whole day without a sinful thought or act and that if not for Jesus, I would be damned to Hell, but He paid the penalties for all of my sins (past-present-future) and when God was telling us about the coming New Covenant, He told us He would “Forgive their wickedness and recognize their sins no more”...
Is it your position that God lied and Jesus wasted His time - or that once He removed us from the insurmountable onus of the 10 simple commandments, He turned around and laid the onus back on us as a cruel joke to make the “uber self-righteous/holier than thou” folks believe they had the magic secret of being worthy by following the Old Covenant and ignoring the New Covenant?

The same Judaic Laws that, after the Crucifixion (and Resurrection), folks tried to return to and were chastised as having fallen from Grace?

I think with homosexuals, and anyone that focuses so much on sex, regular sex soon becomes boring. The search is then on for the next best thing to make it interesting.
