Happens all the time, pastor decides x is the truth, someone disagrees, starts another church that claims y is the truth, rinse, repeat. 30K+ versions of the truth and counting.

Let me help you understand how this works.

Most Christian churches are part of a larger group that shares core essentials.

They are in fellowship with each other.

When any church goes against those core beliefs, they are removed from the group.

Individual churches: all that I know of require everyone who works at the church to have a background check, including volunteers.

If anyone is credibly accused of sexual abuse of any kind or sexual impropriety, or heresy, they are removed by the elders.

They are treated exactly like the NT says to treat them.

.........

Contrast this with Catholicism.

Priest gay?

No problem. He can stay.

Gays in vatican having sex and using drugs?

No problem. Just keep it out of the newspapers.

Priests sexually abusing minors?

Bishops shuffle them elsewhere.

ALL are still Catholic and the majority are still in ministry.

....

30K+ versions of the truth and counting.

Catholicism has 30 million versions of truth - every man and woman does whatever they want, picking and choosing what to believe. No consequence.

And of course, at least half of those claimed as members left long ago.

>>>Most Christian churches are part of a larger group that shares core essentials.

Yeah, except for those thousands of “spritually dead” churches.

If they share “core essentials” why the splits? True is they split because they disagree on “core essentials”.

>>When any church goes against those core beliefs, they are removed from the group.

And they start there own...So these church’s have different “core beliefs”...That means conflicting Truth. That’s not how the Holy Spirit works. The HS cant contradict itself.

Your comparing disagreements of dogma, or “core beliefs”
with the CC’s failure to discipline its ranks and to hold the faithfuls feet to the fire. One is a failure in upholding the tenants of the Faith (CC), the other involves changing tenants of the faith (non-CC). Apples and oranges.

>>Catholicism has 30 million versions of truth - every man and woman does whatever they want, picking and choosing what to believe. No consequence.

Yep there are a lot of Catholics who do not adhere to the One Faith. But there will be consequence. If not now, in the hereafter.
