Dordt University, a Christian college in Sioux Center, is requiring students to sign a COVID-19-updated covenant prior to beginning the academic year. In addition to an email that requests students not attend a local church (except for virtual services), the covenant says Dordt may require a flu vaccine along with a COVID vaccine and leaves the door open to anything else Dordt may see fit during the year.
Students will also receive a handstamp if they pass random temperature checks entering Dordt buildings.
In my opinion, the university has blatantly overstepped its boundaries and seeks to bind students consciences by potentially forcing them to disobey their elders by complying with this document, said a concerned Dordt parent.
Reading through the document, its hard to tell how it would be different had the Democrat National Committee and Joe Bidens campaign crafted it.
Each one of us can potentially hurt ourselves, others or even our broader community because of the decisions we make, the document states. Today, perhaps we are aware of this interdependency more than ever before, living in the midst of a global health pandemic. As we covenant together in community, we will only be as strong or as healthy as our shared, worst decisions.
Dordt says it is a broadening of the definition of what it means to be pro-life.

Not a religious comment, just a practical one from the student’s viewpoint:
Who needs this?
I wonder if the authors of that document own and drive cars.......
Why a hand stamp? Why not just insert a chip in their hand? (sarc/off)
1,500 students. I initially thought it read “Dork” University.
The Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA or CRC) is a Protestant Christian denomination in the United States and Canada. Having roots in the Dutch Reformed Church of the Netherlands, the Christian Reformed Church was founded by Dutch immigrants in 1857 and is theologically Calvinist.[2]
It would be so much easier.
You could tie it to their bank accounts and make the university cash free. Just use your microchip to buy and sell anything you want on campus.
Easy peasy.
As we covenant together in community, we will only be as strong or as healthy as our shared, worst decisions....
WTF does that mean??
I didn’t print the whole comment so read it.
It is worth it to see how it could have easily been a statement out out by the nazis.
“All of what we are doing is good for YOU and ALL OF US.
We are taking your rights away and making it as hard as possible to worship your (fake) God.
Because there’s an epidemic raging and we ALL need to COME TOGETHER to stop it!!
One bad seed can ruin it all!!
So obey. Or face the consequences.
Oh, and you need this stamp on your hand..”
There is no way I would do this. What is wrong with people giving up all their freedoms over this?
Ive never heard of this school but I would find another one
Massive lawsuit
Explicit and blatant discrimination against christian students.
Please start taking these assh0les on and taking their milions away. They are begging us to fight them. This is something we can win easily and make them pay dearly for.
It’s actually not sarcasm. Yours is a statement of the inevitable outcome of all of this.
A virus that has kill 10k people directly is all that is needed to take a TREMENDOUS amount of our rights away...along with our compliance.
Imagine a REAL pandemic?? The Black Death that is immune to our current meds.
We would be fully socialized within 6 months.
And many of us would disappear in “quarantine facilities”
I love Trump. But he doesn’t have the powers of a dictator and half of his time to help us is gone.
It was never right to expect him to turn a VERY, VERY deep seated deep state into dust.
Unfortunately, that’s going to cost blood.
A lot, I think sooner or later.
And that sucks.
Dordt University, a Christian college

Tell your children that God can be trusted more than hand-sanitizer.
Liberty and risk are inexorably tied to one another. They are ying and yang.
I pretty much agree with what you’re saying. I only hope the Rapture has occurred and we are taken out of this mess before the bloodshed takes place. If not, then I’ll be on the front lines against the deep state, socialist, progressive, Obama, Soros and Clinton mechanizations that will be surely coming against the God fearing millions still in the USA.
Perhaps I misunderstand the Rapture. Doesn’t it mean a VERY SMALL number of people will be taken straight up to Heaven and the rest of us will suffer like heck?
If that’s the case, I’m not gonna be the handful that are taken up. Might see Heaven but way too many sins to be on the first flight!!
I think it will be an incredibly awful time for the rest of us if I understand it correctly.
Which i probably don’t. :)
This Christian Reformed Church (CRC) hyper-Calvinist for most of its history. So much so that the CRC held that only members of the CRC and a few other hyper-Calvinist denominations would go to Heaven and that all others were apostate.
I won’t go into details, but when my ex transferred from Dordt after one year to go to the school I was attending, the student dean told her I was a heretic because I didn’t transfer to that school. This was in 1972.
The CRC really screws up their members, so much so that they support three psychiatric hospitals. My ex was admitted to one of them on three occasions. To my ex’s credit, she has overcome her family or origin issues and is a successful accountant with a big company. We have three great successful adult children, and she deserves much of the credit.
To let you know just how hyper-Calvinist it is/was, the guy who was the head editor of the NIV version of the Bible wrote a book titled “The Five Points of Calvinism”.
One part of it was predestination, which has strong Biblical support. However, the CRC believes in “Double Predestination”. This means that God predetermined before the Creation who would be destined to Heaven and all the others were predestined to Hell and there was nothing a person could do to avoid their predestined fate.
I could go on, but this is enough.
Creepy.
