Pope Francis Calls on Humanity to ‘Repent’ for Abuse of Mother Earth

ROME — We humans “must repent and modify our lifestyles” because of our abuse of Mother Earth, Pope Francis states in a message released Thursday.

In his Message for the Celebration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, the pontiff decries the “mistreatment” of our common home stemming from “our consumerist excesses,” “tyrannical anthropocentrism,” “predatory economic interests,” and “short sighted and selfish actions” leading to “the collapse of our planet’s ecosystems.”

“In the first place, it is our sister, mother earth, who cries out. Prey to our consumerist excesses, she weeps and implores us to put an end to our abuses and to her destruction,” Francis declares in his Message.

Because of human irresponsibility “countless species are dying out and their hymns of praise silenced,” the pope laments, while the ancestral lands of indigenous peoples “are being invaded and devastated on all sides, ‘provoking a cry that rises up to heaven.’”

Because of the “climate crisis,” the poor disproportionately suffer the impact of “the drought, flooding, hurricanes and heat waves that are becoming ever more intense and frequent,” the pope asserts.

There’s no such thing as a perfect saint, with the exception of the Blessed Mother.

The scriptures (Genesis) call three men perfect (תָּם singular, תָמִֽים plural) (Noah, Job, and Jacob; God told Abram to be perfect תָמִֽים)

Again in another passage this is reinforced but with Daniel instead of Jacob:

Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves. Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord God, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

They were all born with orginal sin.

Are you a protestant, pretending to be catholic?

They were all born with original sin.

Nonetheless they were "perfect" (tam/tamim), and they are saints. Thus, we see both historical Catholic saints/early fathers, scriptural saints, and even the Messiah either
  1. referring to the earth as a mother or
  2. having the earth or stones whatever, "crying out" as if they had souls when they do not.

Now you’re making stuff up.

Was St. Dismas “perfect”? If so, why did he beg Jesus for forgivness from his own cross.

My Mother, is Mary, the Blessed Virgin, Queen of Heaven and Earth. If you want another mother, a ball of dirt called earth, go for it.

...even the Messiah either referring to the earth as a mother...

Please give evidence that Jesus Christ referred to the earth as a mother.

Reread the post and understand the difference in an either x or y statement.
  1. either referring to the earth as a mother
  2. or having the earth or stones whatever, "crying out"
  3. Jesus said the latter.

Projection

Was St. Dismas “perfect”?

No scripture refers to him as perfect (תָּם singular, תָמִֽים plural) and he is not in the Hebrews roll call of faith.

If Miriam were your mother, you would do the works of Miriam (imitate her behavior).

The Blessed Mother never referred to a "mother earth". Why should she?

Not that is recorded in the scriptures ...

The Blessed Mother never bowed down to a statue. Why should she?

She led an exemplary life of good works. Do likewise.

What was the public transgression of the Apostle Paul (after he received his apostleship).
