President Bush yesterday moved aggressively to resurrect his plan to relax rules against illegal immigration, a move bound to anger conservatives just days after they helped re-elect him.
The president met privately in the Oval Office with Sen. John McCain to discuss jump-starting a stalled White House initiative that would grant legal status to millions of immigrants who broke the law to enter the United States.

They're thieves (at the least) - many are murderers and rapists - check the crime stats.
I would agree with you that many immigrants are our crime problem, not just from Mexico, but from other areas of the world.

It is his job, he is the most powerful man of this nation. Love money? Who doesn't. But I tell you one thing, Kerry loves money more than Bush or anyone else does, why did he become a Gigolooooo?? Well, uh, duh. LOL. If Mexicans are willing to work for the lower wages, so be it. Let them do it.
I don't have the time tonight to point out all the ways in which your comment is harmful to the country, so i'll try to keep it brief.
What you have proposed keeps both the standard of living AND wages artificially for certain classes American Citizens. This takes what might be reasonably paying jobs away from Americans, because were we to disallow illegal people from working, wages would have to reach stasis with the job market before anyone would perform them. This is a good thing. It is called the "free market".
The free market doesn't work when certain industries are allowed to skirt (as in outsourcing jobs to Malaysia), oroutright break the law (as in hiring illegal Mexicans).
The gentleman who builds homes was a perfect example. He cannot hire American workers if he wishes to compete.
I don't see how that can be good for the American worker.

Wanna make a bet on that? Several Freepers here in Cochise County are highly active in hunting down groups of illegals and turning them in to the Border Patrol. Quite literally, thousands of them -- the Freeper contingent here is now way into the five-digit numbers. Right now I believe I'm running in second place to a female Freeper who never learned the meaning of fear or political correctness.
It's still only a drop in the bucket, though. Last year the Border Patrol caught 235,379 in this one rinky-dink county -- their guess is that four times that number made it through here safely.

This is not civil disobedience, or rebellion against unjust authority. These are the borders of a sovereign, just nation. There is a right way to do this, and a wrong way. I oppose amnesty programs. It's a reward for criminals.
Changing the law is fine, as long as it's done legally. The criminals who are already here, however, need to be deported and barred from reentry. They are CRIMINALS!!!!

Well if you look at your reply, it sure doesn't sound like you are pro-Bush like the rest of us here.
Just because you have been a member her longer than me, doesn't mean you can't make troll like statements like this one. And this one sounds like one to me, even if people are dissapointed with what Bush has done in this situation. That's all I was saying.
LOL. At least the priorities are straight.
So my point is valid. We have more laborers than we have jobs, at least in the areas above. So how many more should we let in. Got a number?
