WASHINGTON For more than a century, the study of dinosaurs has been limited to fossilized bones. Now, researchers have recovered 70-million-year-old soft tissue, including what may be blood vessels and cells, from a Tyrannosaurus rex.
If scientists can isolate proteins from the material, they may be able to learn new details of how dinosaurs lived, said lead researcher Mary Higby Schweitzer of North Carolina State University.
"We're doing a lot of stuff in the lab right now that looks promising,'' she said in a telephone interview. But, she said, she does not know yet if scientists will be able to isolate dinosaur DNA from the materials.
The soft tissues were recovered from the thighbone of a T. rex, known as MOR 1125, that was found in a sandstone formation in Montana. The dinosaur was about 18 years old when it died.

I guess they were a bit slow on the uptake of that Evolving thingy....
Well, talking about screen savers (this has nothing to do with this thread), back in the late 80s or early 90s (the days of Windows 3.x), I had a screen saver that was "Bungie Jumping Cows!" Yup, they'd jump off a cliff, and they'd bungie! But occasionally the bungie cord would break, and they'd go plummeting down to the bottom of the screen, their little legs flailing away! And when they hit the bottom of the screen, they'd turn into a T-Bone steak!

Sure is!!
But it really changed the world, didn't it!
Is that the sickest show or what? My brother told me about it a few weeks ago and I couldn`t believe it. Freaking people eating eating maggot infested cheese, live snails and bugs. It`s amazing what people will do for money, and if you watch the end of that show, they have a disclaimer while the credits roll that says the winners get paid off in INSTALLMENTS! SO that means if someone wins this $50,000 bucks, they get taxes taken out which would leave about $30,000, then that gets paid off to them in installments!!! How freaking stupid do these people have to be? I wonder were they find these suckers, probably at the last DNC rally.."Say, how would you like to eat maggots and dog sh*t and if you win we will pay you $1 dollar a month forever?" YEAH! Good deal!
OH oh!
Now I am agreeing with YOU!
It's just AMAZING what we can learn in college; ain't it!
Some Cajun is saying "Heat up some rice."
That would make a GREAT bumper sticker!!
Ok, now I go have breakfast!
...but the little we do know is enough for us to either accept or reject him.
the phrase "historical record" is very vague. Many writings from history are religious documents...are those discounted too? I say that because I assume you arent accepting the Bible as a trusted source.
I believe the dinosaurs lived in swamps went out several decades ago.
Look, I don't buy into evolution too much, but 6000 years old?
That is a bit ridiculous.
The Bible describes creation. It does not give the date it started. And, furthermore, there are likely thousands of years of gaps in time that Scripture does not record. After Adam etc., no doubt there are perhaps even millions of years missing at points. It doesn't just go from Adam to Noah in a couple generations.
Sorry, but you're both wrong. The universe is just over 43 years old. It came into existance when I was born, simply for my convenience. I'm afraid that are all part of a figment of my imagination, and I'm sorry to tell you that your existance will end when ever I happen to die.
Sorry,
Mark

You should ask the Christians who reject the Gnostic gospels.
Religious documents have a different purpose than historical documents. One can assume Josephus or Pliny were trying to record events as they happened. On the other hand, the purpose of much of the New Testament is not historical so much as religously instructive. Very little written in ther first or second centuries can be viewed without a certain amount of skepticism.
Want to compare the number of independent known fossils with the number of mentions of Jesus outside of the New Testament and New Testament Apocrypha?
Have you read the Epic?
Let's say the Emperor Tiberius, a near-contemporary.
We have the book, yesterday I just didn't want to sort through all the kids' bedrooms looking for it so I could post the author's name.
"70-million-year-old soft tissue, including what may be blood vessels and cells, from a Tyrannosaurus rex. "
Too funny.
Once again evolutionist deny the very laws they worship!
This one is over the top. It only shows how delusional they are. Soft tissue could not survive 70 million years!
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!
Obviously, you have never been to Mt. St. Helens. Layers of new cliffs were laid down in hours. Check it out!
