[history]
Filling the atmosphere with Greenhouse gases associated with global warming could push the planet into a new ice age, scientists have warned.
Researchers at the University of Birmingham found that 630 million years ago the earth had a warm atmosphere full of carbon dioxide but was completely covered with ice.

How about these clowns don't know jack about "greenhouse gases" and conflate it with pollution, let alone "global warming"?

How about these clowns don't know jack about "greenhouse gases" and conflate it with pollution, let alone "global warming"?So much of this research is grant driven. You come with a sexy new slant on global warming and you get research money. You starve if you say it nonsense

...the earth had a warm atmosphere full of carbon dioxide but was completely covered with ice. This is the functional equivalent of saying:
1) The woman was a virgin but had ten children.
2) He was happy but very sad.
3) Global peace reigned in the second World War.
4) Stupidity is a form of brilliance (which is evidently where we are headed).

good grief,
So greenhouse gas is now going to cause an ice age...”if not curbed.”
-What a bunch of asshats.

Such glaciation could happen again if global warming is not curbed, the university's school of geography, earth and environmental sciences warned. Methinks these 'scientists' skipped out on logic classes. Then they'd know about the principle of 'non-contradiction'.

An entire rank of “scholarship” is standing with its sheer idiocy exposed to all creation.
I would think that at some point these jokers would start to realize that they are pain into themselves into a corner of foolishness from which there is no escape.

“While pollution in the air is thought to trap the sun’s heat in the atmosphere, causing the planet to heat up, this new research suggests it could also have the opposite effect reflecting rays back into space.”
Sounds like a physician telling a patient that a certain medicine could either cure him or kill him since it’s done both before.

Global warming or an ice age? I wish they would make up their mind, so they could make up my mind. ;-)

This reminds me of the Ozone crisis of the 1980’s. We were supposed to burn up because C.F.C.s were going to destroy
our atmosphere. Acid rain was going to destroy the planet...
Apparently science bows to the latest left-wing fad.
That’s where the grant money is.

absolutely hilarious; these guys seem to have mistaken cause and effect
the 'iceball earth' period
ended because of greenhouse gases, it wasn't
caused by them.
Sheesh! It's very simple:
- something happens - like a meteorite impact - to blot out the sun and drop the temperature
- this lasts long enough to trigger an ice age
- rainfall stops, which is the major way that greenhouse gases such as CO2 are removed from the atmosphere
- but volcanos continue to spew CO2 et al into the atmosphere
- after a few hundred million years, the concentration of greenhouse gases is so high a venus-like greenhouse effect occurs
- this melts the ice, ending the ice age, restarting the rain cycle, and removing the excess greenhouse gases from the atmosphere
- the planet cools back down to a habitable temperature quite rapidly (in geologic time)

During a thunder storm, people carry many umbrellas, therefore umbrellas cause thunder storms. Same logical fallacy. Correllation des not equal cuasation.
