Did eyes evolve by Darwinian mechanisms? (Yet another area where evolution is being falsified)
Journal of Creation ^ | Jerry Bergman, Ph,D.

Posted on 08/17/2009 1:26:14 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

The evolution of the eye has always been a dilemma for evolutionists from Darwin’s time to the present. Although Darwin, Richard Dawkins and other evolutionists have tried to explain how an eye could evolve, their solutions are clearly unsatisfactory. Many kinds of eyes exist, but no progression of eye designs from simple to complex can be produced in the natural or fossil world. Furthermore, the simplest ‘eye’, the eyespot, is not an eye but pigmented cells used for phototaxis; yet even it requires an enormously complex mechanism in order to function as a vision system...

The problem is that the evolution followers throw out whatever evidence does fit nor conform with their beliefs. Have you ever tried to reconcile all of the young earth/universe natural clocks (over 100) versus your assumed billions of years of earth/universe history? Something just doesn’t quite fit...

Suggested reading for you is “Starlight and Time” by Russell Humphreys - just for starters of course.

Yeah that’s real funny - kinda like the video where some rednecks are blowing up tree stumps. Then find a dazed and confused critter recovering from their last blast and decide to strap some dynamite to same. Next thing you know that critter runs underneath their ‘brand new’ truck. Boom! Ha Ha!!

Payback can come in many forms but do not be deceived God sees all.

So I read a little on your FR homepage - you say you like good writing huh?

Try reading the Bible - more specifically the book of Romans - for some of the most poignant prose about God. Both His Warnings and His Promises if you really think you know all you need to know.

Here’s a little hint for you though. Those who sincerely start out trying to discredit the Bible usually come full circle to confessing their sins and their deepest need of a Saviour.

Maybe you won’t take the challenge and read it though,

maybe you aren’t half the man you think you are,

maybe you are just a poser always looking for an ‘easy’ fight,

but just maybe you’ll be honest enough to admit that you can not begin to mix it up with the Almighty God of All Creation,

maybe even your farts do matter and are noticed by God,

maybe...

Someone partially brought this up - but I am going to ask the question directly:

Which evolved first?

1) The light sensitive spot?

2) The optic nerve/nerve connections to the light spot AND to the brain, with just the correct length AND material needed to reach both??

3) The NEW part of the brain that is able to recognize that light spot ???

4) The intelligence of the brain to KNOW there’s light shining and WHAT to do about it????

Either ONE without the other 3 is useless for any type of intelligence; and evolution would not produce something that is not VITAL to nature/survival; nor contradict the law of conservation.

Soooooooo, I ask again - which one “EVOLVED” first !!!

(ps these are MY questions from MY book - not from any other site that I know of - I also have a few hundred OTHER questions that evolution cannot answer without HUGE suppositions without ANY supporting evidence, nor ANY reproducibility without lying)

regards

All mnhering’s post illustrates is an octopus has a more complex eye than a nautilus and the other mollusks. Nothing more.

“There are no hard tissues in the eye to help facilitate a fossil record of its development”.

My but how convenient!

Many dinosaurs had at least as complex an eye as an octopus, and we didn’t need “hard tissues” to assume their eyes were this complex; so why so suddenly do we need to even bring up the lack of hard tissues in the eyes now as an excuse in being unable to show a “record of their development” from lower life forms to more complex? The lack of hard tissues is somehow an excuse for evolution?

The chart doesn’t illustrate eye development, the fossils can’t...so we’re left with nothing but sheer conjecture.

Again.

But this is the real beauty:

“But just because something is complex does not mean a magician in the sky is directly responsible for it”.

Sure. Since it’s soooooo much easier and more sensible to believe it all just came about...

well just because?

via no design, no intelligence...

randomly, accidentally, by sheer chance, against near impossible odds (especially when eyes supposedly came about by means other than a creator)

all by itself?

“Faith is a gift and efforts to validate a belief system with science lessen this gift”.

This is simply surreal!

It seems to me it takes a ton more faith to believe this unintelligent, random, undesigned model than a creator had a hand in it!

(whoops - part of the #1 got left off)

1) The light sensitive spot with the correct amount AND diversity of material to make it light sensitive?

Which evolved first?

You're asking me? I don't give a sh!t. I'm not a sidetaker in these crevo threads. I know what I believe. That's enough for me. The rest of you jackasses can believe what you want- that's fine with me. I wouldn't want you to change.

Indeed, I think it is now safe to say that the problems the eye poses for Darwinian evolution is completely insurmountable by natural/inanimate selection.

Evolutionary theory has gotten stronger by the years.

maybe you aren’t half the man you think you are,

LOL. I'm not even grown yet! I'm still a fetus- My mother types these things for me- I dictate to her by yanking on the umbilical cord in morse code.

I'll be sure and check out the book about the Romans when I get out of this place.

I doubt God notices my flatulance because (drum roll)... Mine don't stink!

I look to Intelligent Design for answers. There is an intelligence at work that we cannot comprehend—an Intelligence we call God.

ID, like evolution does not require there to be a God. In fact, according to ID, there has been no evidence of God in the last few million years!

ID like evolution, believes that man evolved by common descent over billions of years.

well, Prodigal Son (but not the one from the Bible) makes fun of YEC and says they are better than stand up comedy; and pokes “fun” at other Believers just like he would to a dog in a cage, but basically admits that he can’t answer my questions.

1 down, 2 to go.

I don’t give a sh!t about your question.

I don’t care how we got here. I don’t care what happens to us while we’re here. I don’t care how many people suffer. I don’t care which side wins. I don’t care where we go when we die.

Screw the creationists. Screw the Darwinists that come here to argue with them. Screw you. Screw everybody. Myself included.
