Nova debunks man made global warming.
PBS ^ | GranTorino

Posted on 02/10/2010 6:54:30 AM PST by GranTorino

I watched a Nova program last night called Extreme Cave Diving. Although I don't watch the left leaning PBS much, this program sparked my intrest. The body of the program is about cave divers exploring "Blue Holes" in the Bahamas. Blue Holes are devoid of oxygen and preserve bones that can't be found on the surface. The divers were finding bones of animals such as tortise and crocs that were not previously known to exist on the island. Towards the end of the show samples of stalagmites were taken from these flooded caves. They were bi-sected and studied. The scientist involved said that you could find and date climate data by analizing the growth and content of the stalagmites. Well low and behold, just as I was getting ready to shut it off, they said their findings proved that major changes in the climate(five major temp and sea level changes) could be dated back 73,000 years. Leave it to PBS to make milk shoot out my nose.

Isnt this a sign of the end of days, when the left leaning PBS goes against one of the lefts pillars.

You seem to forget that global climate change is Bush’s fault and all those changes from thousands of years ago were just a part of Bush’s evil plan.

DUH!!!

...climate is always changing and won’t stop....North America was origionally populated thanks to climate change...maybe the DEMS would like to drop the ocean levels 200 feet so Indians could walk back to Siberia.

I thought that global warming was because of the Reagan tax cuts?

73,000 years ago they were building up massive numbers of automobiles and power plants I guess.

In there minds, the fact that the climate has changed radically before man’s interference, is no reason not to believ that man is not now the major factor in climate change.

There is ample evidence of glaciers covering much of the northern hemisphere not once, but three times. The last about 20,000 years ago. If much of the northern hemisphere was covered with hundreds of feet of ice, there must have been some massive global cooling. There also had to be some massive global warming to melt these glaciers. Obviously man could not have caused these climate changes. So what is the mechanism causing these climate changes? None of the global warming hoaxers can begin to explain these climate changes nor disprove that these mechanisms are causing the changes we are currently seeing.

Good Nova show, but the last 20 minutes were the usual “ice melting, and the blue holes will be covered in sea water” due to global warming.

They had to please the Soros crowd after presenting excellent videography and diving. (the best diving that has ever been presented in the mass media).

"...when the left leaning PBS goes against one of the lefts pillars."

It doesn't sound like a deliberate rebellion against the leftist canon, but rather an error on the part of the editors who accidentally allowed a fact to leak out.

I watch a lot of them "doomsday" shows on History and the other channels, many, many times the debunking of man made climate change and global warming is right there and obvious.

It is both history and science that destroys this myth, but hey, watching NY flood and the East Coast disappear make really cool videos too.

My wife and I watched that program also. Of course, we saw it in a different light than you.

The “scientists” blamed the extinction of the animals on human inhabitants of the island. And, they made a point of highlighting the return of the iron deposits from the Sahara if the CO2 levels in the atmosphere keeps rising. However, they conveniently skirted around the issue of what caused the cycles of global warming in the past... Just more proof of pseudo-science and politics, if you ask me.

Also of great amusement to my wife and I, was the number of times the narrator could say “Blue Holes” in one sentence. We made a drinking game of it; Everytime he said “Blue Holes” twice in one sentence, we took an imaginary shot of rum. Three times in one sentence was a double-shot.

Cheers

I came to my own conclusion that global climate change was natural back in 2001. We were in New Zealand and were walking up a trail to see the Fox Glacier. There was a sign that said [IN 1850 THE FOX GLACIER WAS HERE] Now there was grass and bushes there. Farther on up the trail there was another sign that said [IN 1750 THE FOX GLACIER WAS HERE] More grass and bushes. We continued up the trail and eventually we got to the Fox Glacier.

On the way back down I realized that my SUV had NOT melted the Fox Glacier between 1750 and 2001. DUH! It must be natural climate change!

The first thing I said to my wife was “At least we won’t have to worry about NY/NY and LA” and she countered “Yea but the people will move here”.
