Lee is one of the most disgusting NeverTrumpers ever - he should not get anywhere near the Court.
It was pute politics. Like trump interviewing romney for secty of state. No chance. Same with lee. Just playing with the nevertrumpers.
Establishing life begins at conception is the real answer and that would take an amendment. We are not going to win the “right to life” vs “pro-choice” at this present time. I hope I am wrong. We are winning at the states level,through the advancement of technology and gradual societal change. My priority is 2A, immigration and election reform. We need a strict originalist as in Scalia. We need a majority court that can sit for at least a generation. We need to shoot down every liberal agenda and hopefully bring the Republic back to health.
Don't forget that Trump hadn't many connections/friends with pols, whom he could trust, before running, which is how and why we wound up with a whole LOT of garbage in far too many positions, right off the bat.
He certainly did NOT have much working knowledge re judges, either! So he asked others for recommendations and fortunately, many of them are really good; though throwing Lee in the pile, looks STUPID!

We can NOT take a chance on promoting another senator. We can’t spare the vote and don’t tell ne how the People of Utah will send another good senator. They just gave us Mitt!
I like Mike Lee a lot and think he could well be a good fit for any of the other 3 seats at SCOTUS President Trump will fill, but this one we can not take that chance.
That is a valid consideration in view of the Sessions Alabama debacle.
I supported Trump in the primaries starting the moment that I became convinced that he would appoint Right to Life justices.

You made good points I had not considered. Yours are plausible and make sense. I mean, would Trump really add a Nevertrumper who called for him to leave the race and who boasts he voted for mcmullen? No, you are right. Trump didnt make that list. Some cruzbot over at the Heritage Found, or Federalist Society did.
