Glad I didn’t shoot up all mine a few weeks back. Still got enough of several calibers.
Only thing missing is my good eye sight. I can still hit POA with a scoped M1 Garand.
My kids were at the counter of a sporting goods store this past weekend with several other customers disappointed there was no 9mm.
Another customer walked up and said, XX store a couple of streets over has it. The whole crowd left and reconvened at the other store.

Gun prices have fluctuated wildly the past few years after mass shootings. I kept looking at grab-a-gun every day and got some pretty good deals.
Unfortunately I lost them all in a tragic boating accident.
And if you checked Walmart every week you could stock up pretty economically.

.22 has it’s uses and there are a lot of them.
I read recently of Israeli special ops taking out ringleaders with silenced Ruger 10/22 rifles. They also seem to like Beretta model 70 .22 pistols for assassinations.
If there are a lot of heavily armed people with bullet proof vests etc. I will simply run away. If it is only a few and I know they intend to kill me or mine. I would use my old Swedish Mauser. I have 20 boxes of Lapua 6.5 match and a few boxes of Norma hunting ammo.

Said about a week ago if I were in the Urban areas I would arm up.
The best thing is that whole communities arm up and enjoin to form militias for their own self preservation at this point.
The cops are not going to do it. And they are not going to ask Trump to send in the military and will let the destruction continue.
So that leaves....the neighborhoods to react.
Personally, I am not worried about the rural areas. Folks like us will take care of problems.
We now know that some military commanders are on the other side. Question will be, which side are the troops on?
This is the civil war/unrest a lot of us have been talking about.
Several years back I called 9-11 on some trespassers on a high target plant I was working at. I called at 10AM, the police showed up at 2Pm.

You can buy guns - but they’ve already made it illegal to defend yourself. Unless you live in a rural area with a Constitutionalist sheriff.

I read a book that was all about how to protect oneself if society disintegrated. It recommended moving to smallish town that had like-minded citizens. Having just one’s family isn’t enough defense.
I think most people in the suburbs and the country will be fine, as will people in wealthy neighborhoods who can afford private security.
People in poor inner city neighborhoods will find out that the police primarily exist to protect them from each other.
Some will also find out that much modern law exists to protect criminals from their victims
When .22 became scarce under the “O”bama Administration, I found I only had two small boxes, so went to look for more. None anywhere. Finally I found four boxes on the shelf at a local store, and bought two.
Still got them.
A few weeks ago, I was going through some old ammo cans and found I had three boxes of 500 round Federal I had bought maybe 35 years ago. It still shoots!
I’m good.
