.22 is about as effective as a slingshot in a battle situation.

.22 has it’s uses and there are a lot of them.

I read recently of Israeli special ops taking out ringleaders with silenced Ruger 10/22 rifles. They also seem to like Beretta model 70 .22 pistols for assassinations.

If there are a lot of heavily armed people with bullet proof vests etc. I will simply run away. If it is only a few and I know they intend to kill me or mine. I would use my old Swedish Mauser. I have 20 boxes of Lapua 6.5 match and a few boxes of Norma hunting ammo.

Correct, unless a clean head shot a 22 will not take an attacker down. I have known people who chose it because they don’t like recoil, but its stupid. If you can’t handle at least a 9mm then you probably are going to die. I use a 99mm with very nasty defensive frat rounds and I would still like two to the body and a third to the head to be sure. I like my 45 but I prefer mags with more than 7 rounds.

Still better than throwing rocks. With my scope sighted Remington Nylon 66 I’m good.

.... don’t be bad mouthing the honorable .22. Many a large critter , including grizzly bears, have been take down with the lowly and in-assuming round. With the proper placement, that little zinger can be quite deadly.

Actually, I think a .22 LR is going to be well worth having.

Until you get hit in the face with a .22LR. Make you kick and scream and cry for mama.

.22 is fine. Especially hollow points when you fill the tip with dog poop...or human poop if you feel really vindictive.

Not if you know hw to use it. Won't work well against a swat team, or military force but dang sure will slow down the mob. The 22 is used by poachers to a great advantage and Germans had snipers armed with 22 cal sniper rifles, had one as a kid and it was awsome.

Are you familiar with how the Israelis used Ruger 1022s with barrel suppressors? A suppressor for a 22 lr rifle is esy to make and after the collapse no need for a permit.
