I don’t think masks work.
Having said that, I will point out that over the past 8 months or so, pretty much everyone has worn a mask with some regularity. So pretty much anyone who comes down with COVID has “worn a mask”.
I could also say that the majority of people getting COVID have had eggs for breakfast.

There was a sign with an arrow pointing to a waste bin at the entrance to my doctor’s office. It read, “If you are wearing gloves, take them off now. Gloves are intended to prevent cross contamination. They collect contamination and carry it with them. This is why doctor’s change gloves so frequently. You are better off just washing your hands more frequently.” This wasn’t some hand written sign. It was printed on plastic and they probably bought it from a medical supply house.
As to masks, I think the same applies. A doctor puts on a mask for surgery, then replaces it when he gets to the next patient. (At least, my doctor does. The office help is wearing any old thing with many of them wearing it below their nose or hanging from a strap.) You can tell the office staff has had it with wearing masks all day.

Proper masks like N95 masks, properly warn, maintained, and cleaned or disposed of, work well. I see rampant misuse of masks. Easily over 50% of people are clueless how to use masks, let alone how to maintain them.
That said, shut downs and masks only serve to delay the inevitable. We are all going to be infected with Covid eventually. All we are doing is delaying it into winter when it will be worse. I would rather have taken my chances getting it during summer.
My daughter works as a nurse in a covid isolation ward 10 -12 hours a day and has from the beginning. She hands-on handles covid patients all day everyday. She gets tested twice weekly. She has never contracted covid. She wears N95 masks.
Masks work. But, you have to wear them, and wear them correctly.
Wonder how long before CDC revises or contradicts this report.
Funny to me is that I have been arguing with the mask sheep/nazis that the mask may be 20% effective, it is looking more like 15%.
Does that mask are not the cure OR masks are worn by more?
Either way, masks are worthless
The present “mask confusion” is simply this in steps:
1. Western society, once unified around Christianity, abandoned God and the church
2. It opened itself to every false religion instead (Anti-papacy, Hindu, Buddist, Communist, Athiest, Agnosticism)
3. All unity was lost
4. When a percieved thread arrived, Western society longed for unifying force
5. Mask-wearing has become a desperate method to unify the now Godless man
Good for the lady. This seems to be in Florida. You can see on stage what appears to be a Florida flag.
Won’t be long till someone attempts to discredit this report by stating: “wearing a mask is to protect others, not yourself.”
I’m an engineer and do not understand how my mask can protect someone else but their mask won’t protect themselves. If you believe that, then I suggest you wear two masks. BTW, I was placed on posting suspension on another website for pointing this out.
Sort of like socialism. They just weren’t wearing them right.
I feel personally that most masks are a complete waste of time. I think the way for businesses to approach it is as I saw at one local business in that they RECOMMENDED you wear a mask in the store, but did not make it an issue beyond that. I personally did not wear one & respect the message as they conveyed it.
I had dinner with a couple of friends the other night. I couldn't help noticing how frequently both of them were touching their noses. I have gotten pretty adept at not touching my face, so I am always spotting people who do when I am out and about. It's rampant.
They get the virus from people with whom they believe it is safe to remove the mask, like at home with their family or super close friends the visit frequently. But meanwhile someone in either their family or their close friends has unknowingly obtained the virus.
That, when masks are thought to be not needed, is when a new cluster starts. NOT when folks are out in public and masked up while doing their daily business.
Yet, CDC has already known, from what contract tracing studies have shown, that most infections are NOT obtained casually, but during CLOSE contact in an enclosed space for some sustained period of time.
The do gooders around here were trying to get us killed!
